tmitchell

I followed an ad link from the sfomag web site to the tmitchell web site (www.tmitchell.com) and this was what the website turned up for me. I just thought that the ad information that is being collected when you first enter the site was interesting.

i was just reading about todd mitchell and see that he is a member of the better business bureau... does that guarantee that his business has been vetted and is good? or do you still have to do all the due diligence and checks before signing up with him...?

Well if you Google the Better Business Bureau you come up with 2 sites at the top of the list:
www.bbb.org
www.bbbonline.org
which both have the same logos as the stamp of approval on mitchell's site but it looks like he is a member of the online one.

This is the blurb that the www.bbbonline.org give for consumers:
quote:
Welcome to BBBOnLine's Consumer Safe Shopping Site

Use our safe shopping site to locate companies that are members of their local Better Business Bureau, pledge to meet the BBBOnLine Reliability standards for ethical online business practices and have agreed to resolve complaints using the BBB's dispute resolution program or a similar program. Companies must live up to these promises or lose the right to remain in our program. There are currently 26142web sites covered by the BBBOnLine Reliability seal.
I went to their for consumers section: http://www.bbbonline.org/consumer/
and searched for: tmitchell, tmitchell.com, mitchell, trading concepts, trading, concepts but could now come up with the tmitchell.com business (Trading Concepts).

I then went to the Safe Shopping Site Alphabetical listing and searched under T for Todd Mitchell, tmitchell and Trading Concepts but again no cigar.

It could be because I am not very good at searching or perhaps there is some discrepancy here... I will send bbbonline.org an email and ask them...
I just posted the following on the bbbonline contact us (http://www.bbbonline.org/about/contact.asp) form:
quote:
I am trying to help answer someones question about the BBB and the www.tmitchell.com web site. I have posted the details on this forum but in case you don't want to read that then the question is: I can't locate www.tmitchell.com using the search facility on your web site although the www.tmitchel.com web site has your logo on it. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
I discovered another search facility on the BBB web site to allow search by URL: http://search.bbb.org/search.html

However, none of:
tmitchell.com
www.tmitchell.com
http://www.tmitchel.com

came up with any hits...
I got a standard form response from BBB which holds the key to the mystery (in bold and red):
quote:
Please Read Very Carefully!
