The Monster Employment Index is a monthly analysis of online job demand conducted by Monster Worldwide. Based on a monthly review of millions of opportunities cut from a large selection of company career sites and job boards, including Monster's own job board. The Index presents a snapshot of employer online recruitment activity in the United States, Canada and Europe.

Recruitment typically precedes actual hiring by one or two months. The Monster Employment Index is considered an important leading indicator for the labor market and overall economy.
