In the middle of each month the United States Department of Treasury releases data about the flow of capital into and out of the country. Data release is for two months prior. January's data is released in March.

The financial instrument flow tracked by the Treasury includes:
  • Treasury securities
  • Agency securities
  • Corporate bonds
  • Corporate equities
This data tracks foreign demand for United States debt and assets. As such, bonds and currencies are most sensitive to the release of this report.

Increased participation by foreign countries in United States market has made this report more important in recent years.
