Definition of 'E-mini Dow ($5) Futures YM'

The YM is the ticker symbol for the E-mini Dow Future which is a future that trades $5 per point. The YM trades on CME's Globex market and is almost a 24-hour market during the week opening on Sunday evening at 5pm and closing each day at 3:15pm and opening again from 3:30pm to 4:30pm with another short close from 4:30pm to 5pm for maintenance. Times given are U.S. Central, same as Chicago where the CME exchange is based.

The YM has four contracts per year each ending on the third Friday of the last month of each quarter at 8:30am, i.e. March, June, September and December. This contract is cash settled (i.e. no delivery) against the Special Opening Quotation (SOQ) on the Friday a.m. of the Dow Jones Industrial Average Index.

Price limits in effect for the RTH session are 10%, 20%, and 30% on the downside. During the ETH session the price limit is 5% in either direction.
