The PHLX Semiconductor Sector (SOX) is a modified capitalization-weighted Philadelphia Stock Exchange index composed of companies primarily involved in the design, distribution, manufacture, and sale of semiconductors.

The Index was set to an initial value of 200 on December 1, 1993 and was split two-for-one on July 24, 1995; options commenced trading on September 7, 1994.

As of June 20, 2010, there were 30 semiconductor companies represented in the index. The composition and weighting of the index is reported monthly on the nasdaqomx website
