Definition of 'Ex-Date'

When talking about stock splits or reverse stock splits the "Ex-Date" is the date that the stock price is adjusted to reflect the issuance of new shares due to the stock split.

The Ex-Date is also the date on which a stock's price is adjusted to reflect that the payment of a dividend.
