Expensive is biggest drawback. Documentation is so massive that finding that one little thing u need can be hard to do, is that really a negative?

I primarily use eSignal as a data feed for MarketDelta. However, I like the functionality of eSignal charts, and I do use it for my market internals charts and T&S strips.

It's expensive, and you if you could probably get all the functionality elsewhere for less money. I've been using it for about 6 years and am so used to it that I keep it.

I started with E-signal 5 it keeps getting bigger & bigger. Tech support is luck of the draw, you might get someone that knows & you may not. IMO they should work on & support what they already have EFS & all rather than working on E-signal 16 or what ever version the programmers are dreaming up next

Pluses: Good historical daily / weekly data. Also, provides stocks, ETF's, and market internal indicators ($TICK, $TRIN, $ADV....).

Runs Advanced GET. Has Market Profile.

Minuses: The App is huge, consumes a lot of resources, and as is common with 11th iteration legacy software is buggy and very poorly designed in terms of resource utilization as compared to optimally threaded dot net based solutions.

The new eSignal, version 11 is alpha software they released as final. It's buggy as hell.

I love esignal data. I hate their new esignal version 11. There are so many problems you wonder if they ever tested this software before they went life? Avoid version 11. Stay with 10.6

I used to say that eSignal was the best of a bad bunch because I wasn't particularly impressed with any of the charting packages out there. I've been using eSignal for 8 years at the time of writing this and I am happy to say that over those years that the charting software available to traders has improved tremendously.

One of the big advantages of eSignal is that they use the world's most popular programming language (JavaScript) as the language that their indicators are written in. This makes custom indicators accessible to most people as it's not too difficult to find a JavaScript programmer.
