I took the IWM short at the Magenta line around around the 56.8 area, I used a 1 min bar break to get in. I am guessing that this was not the best direction because we never took out the last swing lows just under 56. I find myself in these trades often where it seems like I an in at a balance point (or the middle). Any constructive criticism would be great.....

The first comment I have is that there was no entry trigger here via any of the techniques I use currently. This is something I can explain in detail in one-on-one work.

Yes, I agree, I used a very fast trigger of a bar break vs. a swing point break or a MA break

I would say the AC leg looks a bit suspect ( not always a deal breaker) and the trendline is incredibly obvious.

The most obvious issue, though, has still not been mentioned...

where is the setup? abcd at TL? context?did u see the bigger ABCD wich ur play was trying to counter?...the price action going to ur area screamed "get out of the way' ,that swing leg didn't even have a single wiggle in it. No trigger no trade .

Yes, 'context'. Anyone see the much bigger bullish TD at key set line on that?

Two wide range bars (impulsive), out of character price action (wide range bars).
Prior lows (old demand) @ 56.8 should become new supply levels (resistance).
Very little downside reaction at these prior lows. Would need more confirmation considering the upthrusting price action.
Where do you put your stop when shorting, logical place is above 57.2 swing highs on this timeframe.(big stop)
So your trading in the middle with bad risk/reward (no decent market structure to hide your stop behind).

just my thoughts AFTER THE FACT
