i keep thinking about my mother's rule of speculation from almost 50 yrs ago.....what if they throw a recovery and nobody comes? does the speculation just go on and on?the real world here in the detroit area is surreal... the wealthy.... the really wealthy... are upping the ante... in the trophy houses they are building...go figure...another strange thing... cadcam people who have been out of work are having employers fight over them as job offers abound... the lowest of lowly roofers are jumping ship as better jobs are being offered....i remember 73/74... 80 /81...for those who want to work this period is just not as bad as those times...i do not know how the pieces fit...

I don't know, roofer. All I know is just about everyone I know is hurting pretty bad, and jobs are non-existent up here. But I seriously think we could have DOW 20,000 and unemployment at 20%, and the DOW would be looking strong, ready for 25,000. There is simply no reason for the market to not go up and up and up. The thinner the market gets, and the more the word is out that only buying is allowed (this is done in various ways like calling in shorts at the worst possible time, changing the rules to make shorting difficult, not lending stock out so shorts aren't available, and many other things not directly related to making shorting difficult), the easier it is for this to be forced up. I'm thinking they are only getting started.

I don't think they will do much to draw in the excess liquidity for many years, and I think QE Part II will be starting soon. Add on the propaganda that is constantly streamed about how well we are recovering, and up we go. All I can say is when I look at just about everyone I know, I can't find one single story from anyone who says they have seen or heard of anyone competing for their job skills, all I hear are hard times, low pay, and no jobs.
