What is Google's Plus One +1 button?

You may have noticed that some new button have appeared on the site, one of these buttons is Google's new Plus One +1 button and can be identified by the +1 inside the button. Previously this was in the footer of the page but it's now near the top left corner. Just to the right of this button is a small speech bubble which indicates how many people have voted for this page. If you end up on a page that you like and think that it will benefit other people then by clicking the +1 button you are telling other visitors that you think that this is a useful page and you are voting for it.

There are also some other buttons in the footer which take you to:

1. Our Facebook Fan page where you can like us.
2. Our Twitter feed where you can follow us.
3. Our Google Plus page where you can circle us.
