So, part of what I can do, part of my 'gift', is that I can see parallels that few others can see. Some are useful for trading and such, some are just fun, some are of no use that I can see right now. But I see parallels all over, to the point it drives me crazy. So, I was on youtube, listening to some of the old songs from my favorite band, Blue Oyster Cult. I'd like to think a few in here would at least have heard of them. I know roofer (who's long gong from this forum, nevermore to return) would know them.
Anyway, I was listening to the song 'The Vigil', and I was thinking about how the economic situation is so bad (far worse than you think it is even when you are being pessimistic, in my opinion), and how I have heard many times that the world's central banks are leveraged to the hilt (the FED's at about 50 to 1 the last I heard), and once they give way we'll need a worldwide bailout from Mars or somewhere. And I'm soooooo tired of living under this Sword of Damocles, waiting for the thread to break...
Now, listen to the song and look at the lyrics. It could be applied to our situation. Looking to the sky, waiting, hoping, for it's our only chance now (let's say for the sake of the argument we leave out the other possibility, direct intervention from God himself...) I couldn't get over how much, for me, I could see this actually happening, myself or someone else saying the words to this song to the sky, hoping for that otherworldly bailout to save us. Let's just hope they turn out to be benevolent...
In a purple vision
Many thousand years ago
I saw the silent stranger
Walk the earth alone
Twenty-seven faces
With their eyes turned to the sky
I've got a camera
And an airtight alibi
I know they're out there
We see them coming
Faster than the speed of light
They greet us in the dead of the night
Somewhere, someday, someone
They'll be light and sound
They'll alight on the ground
On which we stand
Somewhere, someday, someone
Will help us to survive
They're gonna show us hell
And bring us back alive
Well, I'm no poet, but I can't be fooled
The lies don't count, the whispers do
I hear the whispers on the wind
They say the earth has fallen due
We run in circles
Our days are numbered
Every night I look away
To the heavens and I pray
Come to us
Come to us
Our lights are dim
Our roads are crumbling
And we don't know what to do
We're sick and tired
And dying to meet you
'cause we bit off more than
We can chew
