Okay, I started this in the trading thread and decided to have mercy and make it its own topic. It could be in the old economic thread, but honestly I no longer know why I'm posting on this concept...

I'm getting to the point where I no longer even care about posting about trading. All I care about, as we approach the end stage, is talking about what to do with our situation. And that's not what this forum is about. I've thought of just phasing into a blog about all this, but in reality, there are more than enough sources saying the same thing. And it doesn't appear to be doing enough good. I post in here because the small crew is all the contact I have. We all go way back. I'm trying to enlighten the few that may listen and do their own due diligence. Anyway, here are a few must reads. And my key thought that few understand.

The oligarchs of the world (and their puppets, the world leaders, politicians, central banks and big banks) are quite powerful. The run everything. We are slaves, by every definition of the word. They are also sociopaths, totally without mercy, remorse, empathy, or anything like that. And preserving themselves and their 'wealth' (all stolen from us, or produced at our expense, on our backs) is all that matters to them. And how they do that is immaterial. There is truly no line they won't cross.

Back when I was much more naive than I am now, I made the bold proclamation (which caused one person who was trying hard to ingratiate himself with the power elite crew to step back from me, like some recoil when seeing a snake) that Greenspan will be responsible for more human suffering than Hitler. Now I would revise that to the players that pulled Greenspan's strings, and now Bern-qwacke's and all the rest, will be responsible for more human suffering than Hitler. I have never felt more confident in any statement I have ever made than I do right now about that one.

You see, when you have a herd of deer and no natural control like predators, they overpopulate (a population explosion) continuously until they consume all the natural resources, and then they have a massive die off. If you look at any living species this is the case. Not one self-controls its population, and finds a sustainable balance, if controls are taken off of them. It's the same with the oligarchs. Now that their demise is at hand (and I fully believe they will fall), all that matters to them is to stay alive as long as they can.

Think about this. Most people have little sympathy for the food animals they eat. They are 'lesser beings' whose sole purpose in life is to be there to feed you when you deem it time. That's the human viewpoint. But here's what you are doing. You are taking a sentient creature, one who is actually quite smart (pigs are extraordinarily smart, as are dogs, which are still eaten, in large quantities, in SE Asia, and in Canada (yes!) and in many places in Europe), and saying 'I know that your life is just as valuable to you as mine is to me, but it has to be this way. And I know that if I kill you, and take away all the rest of your entire life, it will only sustain me for a few hours (a fish or a lobster, let's say), or a day (a chicken), or a few days (something bigger). But for me, even though there are alternatives, that few hours or days of my life is more valuable to me than the entire rest of your life. So, I am going to do this, and that's that. Say goodbye, your time is up.'

In this scenario, though, you are a 'good person'. This is perfectly acceptable behavior, and you would never feel bad about it, it's totally socially acceptable. Some may now see where I am going. Now imagine you are a true sociopathic oligarch. What are we to them? Feed animals. Slaves. To be consumed when convenient. And they will feel the same as all you non-vegetarians out there reading this. Is your entire life savings, your hard work, your family, your health, your very life worth more to them than a few hours, days, months or years more of them staying in power? Hell, no. Step up, hamburger, it's your time.

You see, in their attempt to stay in power they will consume all resources available, no limit, until they are all gone. Deer do it, they will to. They will not fall until they die of starvation, after having consumed every last resource. That means your life savings, your gold, your home, and in many cases, your very life. Sorry, that's the natural way of things, and this will be no different. As Jethro Tull put it '...The train won't stop going, no way to slow down...' It ends when everything has been consumed.

But, alas, the story doesn't have a happy ending there with the end of the oligarchs and the rebirth of a fair society. You know Jim. (Imagine me reading a bedtime story to a kid...) Let me quote some Moody Blues, from 'The Story In Your Eyes'. I love music and movie quotes, I see parallels everywhere.

Listen to the tide slowly turning
Wash all our heartaches away
We're part of the fire that is burning
And from the ashes we can build another day

But I'm frightened for your children
That the life that we are living is in vain
And the sunshine we've been waiting for
Will turn to rain

You see, once it's all brought down to ashes, it will start over again, fresh. You recall the end of the movie 'The Devil's Advocate'? It didn't work out the way the devil wanted, so what did he do? He just reset it all and started over. Human nature will not change, nothing will be learned from this, at least not of any use. The process is slow and takes a long time to unfold, even hundreds of years. So, those that remember the lesson, they will be long gone by the time it gets hairy again.

And that has to be, so that it can proceed. Hence, the reward for all this suffering is that it starts all over again, to be repeated as long as there are people on this planet (and maybe on another planet we've colonized). Look at history, it's happened since time immemorial, and is unfolding again now, and it will happen forever. Now I finally see this, and understand it. It's an awful realization, but it is what it is. And we are all part of it, like those that suffered under Hitler. 'Everything is as it should be, in this, the best of all possible worlds.' If you don't understand that line, read Candide by Voltaire.

Spoken like a true Buddha :)
But believe that this too shall pass, just like everything else.
The circle will end....eventually.
