I've been using checklists all my life so reading about the success of them was a great validation of a technique I already employ.

Atul Gawande is a surgeon and mainly focuses on checklists to improve surgery. However, he does talk to Value Investors and Venture Capitalists about how they have used checklists to enhance returns. It is this section at the end of the book that will interest reader of this site the most.

Well known Value Investors who use checklists are:

Mohnish Pabrai. Managing partner in Pabrai Investment Funds in Irvine, California. Runninga $500m portfolio.
Guy Spier. Head of Aquamarine Capital Management in Zurich, a $70m fund.
