National Association of Securities Dealers NASD

Formed in 1936, NASD Inc. was previously known as the National Association of Securities Dealers, the acronym of which forms its name today.

It's an industry organization representing persons and companies involved in the securities industry in the United States. NASD is the primary SRO responsible for the regulation of the securities industry. The SEC oversees the operations of NASD.
