Industrial Production
Around the middle of each month the Federal Reserve Board of Governors releases the Industrial Production figures for the previous month. January's data is released in February.
The industrial production index is broken down nationally by market and industry groups.
Major groupings are:
- Final products (consumer goods, business equipment and construction supplies etc.)
- Intermediate products
- materials
Industry groupings are
- Manufacturing
- Durable goods
- Non-durable goods
- Mining
- Utilities
The index of industrial production shows how much factories, mines and utilities are producing.
