Jesse L. Livermore

Jesse Lauriston Livermore (July 26, 1877 – November 28, 1940) was an American stock trader who made and lost millions of dollars on Wall Street. He was known as "The Boy Plunger" and "The Great Bear of Wall Street".

Livermore was born in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, the son of a farmer. He left home at the age of 14 and worked as a messenger boy for a brokerage firm in Boston. He later became a stockbroker himself and made his first million dollars in 1906.

Livermore was a very successful trader, but he also had a gambling problem. He would often lose all of his money and then have to start over again. In 1929, he lost everything in the stock market crash. He died in 1940 at the age of 63.
