John Elkann is an Italian businessman and heir to the Agnelli family fortune. He is the chairman of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and Exor, and a member of the board of directors of The Economist Group.

Elkann was born in New York City in 1976. He is the son of Margherita Agnelli and Alain Elkann. His grandfather, Gianni Agnelli, was the chairman of Fiat from 1966 to 2003.

Elkann began his career at Fiat in 1997. He held various management positions at the company before being appointed chairman in 2010. Under his leadership, Fiat Chrysler has merged with Chrysler and acquired Ferrari.

Elkann is also a member of the board of directors of The Economist Group. He has been a vocal advocate for free trade and economic development.

In 2016, Elkann was named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine. He is considered one of the most powerful businessmen in Italy.

Elkann is married to Lavinia Borromeo. They have two children, John and Lapo.
