Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC)

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) is a bureau of the United States Department of the Treasury that charters, regulates, and supervises national banks. The OCC also regulates federal savings associations and federal branches and agencies of foreign banks. The OCC was established by the National Currency Act of 1863 and is the oldest federal financial regulatory agency.
