Termination of Employment

Termination of employment is the end of an employment relationship between an employer and an employee. It can occur when an employee quits, is fired, or is laid off. When an employee quits, they are said to have voluntarily terminated their employment. When an employee is fired, they are said to have been involuntarily terminated. When an employee is laid off, they are said to have been terminated as a result of a reduction in force.
