Trading Session

A trading session is a period of time during which trading takes place on a particular exchange. The length of a trading session can vary depending on the exchange, but it typically lasts for a few hours.

There are two main types of trading sessions:

The specific times of trading sessions vary depending on the exchange. For example, the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) has regular trading sessions that begin at 9:30 AM and end at 4:00 PM, while the Nasdaq Stock Market has regular trading sessions that begin at 9:30 AM and end at 4:00 PM.

Extended trading sessions are also offered by some exchanges. For example, the NYSE offers an extended trading session that begins at 4:00 PM and ends at 8:00 PM.

The length of a trading session can also vary depending on the day of the week. For example, the NYSE is closed on weekends and holidays.

Trading sessions are important because they provide a time frame for investors to trade. They also allow investors to see how the market is performing at different times of the day.
