Definition of 'Tendies'

Originally, tendies meant chicken tenders. Its association or connotation was inferred negatively on young adult men who were given these as rewards, usually from their mothers.

In early 2021 traders from Reddit's subreddit /r/wallstreetbets (WSB) board popularized this term to refer to investment gains. Especially gains that that were quick, easy and carried a high risk profile. As such the gains referred to by tendies are ones that are from day trading and not long term investing.

Note: Tendies has carried this definition for a number of years. It just became more popular "profit" slang in early 2021.
