Definition of 'Good Till Cancel (GTC)'

GTC is an acronym for Good Till Cancel. This is an order that you place with your broker (it can also be placed electronically) at a fixed price which remains in place until it either fills or you cancel it.

It is also possible that your broker will cancel this order if you are filling other trades that take your account to the limit that your account margin allows. For example, if this order was filled it would automatically generate a maintenance call.
