Jim, I will join in on this lonely endeavour for a little while.
986-987 super key spot imo. Expect to blast right through it...

This overlapping action on the way up here looks corrective. Normally, then, I'd be looking to short off it. But what I see lately is this thing where it explodes up out of corrective action. It's a very odd, and historically rare I think, price action, but one I see a lot nowadays. Let's see if it happens here.

Jim, does this comes close to the sets you're looking at ?
I would think that the long trigger in here at 11:32 would be a TL break off of two swings (11:02 and 11:20)on a 34 tick chart or maybe a 13 tick chart if you're trading on the 1 min. Correct ?
You say, comes close to a long trigger, what would validate the long trigger ?

Good questions, BBJ. The set I am using is an upsloping set, and comes from a totally new technique I need to work on a bit more before I reveal. But it points to the lower area you have also. You also have a line for the middle area, where my ML is, so we are basically looking at the same two spots. For that 11:32 comment, it has come down to the same level a second time (90.50), and traded it a lot without breaking down, and then it jumped up. I was looking for maybe a TL break in combination with a swing point. TL breaks on low tick charts can often be fakeouts if not used in combination with another trigger.
As far as 13 and 34-tick, I don't just use them 'straight up', as they are way too fine. My smallest pattern I'll usually look to trade is a 3-min pattern, perhaps where the correction takes 45 minutes to unfold. The 13 and 34 are way too low, so I look at 1-min and the 13 and 34 in this 'context' and try to find a blended trigger that shows me the flow is changing. I look at 1 and 3 min bar highs, swing points, TL, MA's, and I can see it all and blend them quickly and just know where the trigger will be. That's about the best I can say.

This is just a total grind. I would expect a wicked sell any time now, but with this market, I'm still waiting on the break to the upside (the break steepens the current flow), since that's the game they like.

Well, I'll be. It actually did what it used to do all the time. For now. The gov didn't come in and override the pattern. I'll stay short side bias in here, but this is the spot where they'd generally come back in and play games again. This fits perfectly with what I mentioned yesterday. I'm short side now, we are at a key area, what do I do? Long should trigger here soon. If I take that and they break it down, I miss that. If I wait too long and let it breathe too much, I may give back a bit and miss the long side. This is the key decision here, what do I think, what's my premise? That's the most critical aspect to me of all.

So, are you off the short side, triggered long off the 4PT now, or giving it room to breathe, with the maximum area, using the very same methodology, that you will give some of them, with some off already? See, which premise you decided on here will make all the difference in the world.

quote:Yes, but even cheating fits some mathematical equations. It's like if I were a master magician and I saw a trick performed by another magician, but couldn't figure out how he did it. I know it isn't 'supernatural', but I can't for the life of me figure out how he did it.

The main issue I have is that I simply can't figure out the mathematics about how they are pulling it off. Something is missing from my equations, because the math can't lie, the laws of physics can't be circumvented. So, I'm missing something about how they are doing it.
