I tried the best I could, given how insane it was. Notice my comments were short.

It's definitely history. I've only seen this a few times before. They said this was the biggest single drop since the '87 crash. Really does sound like a 'bull' market to me. Undervalued, too. I think all that stuff in my last commentary, it could be starting...

yes..serious damage to the charts now....it was all laid out in the commentary ..a sea change and just like retail to step up and buy it and then get flushed out..

Carl Futia just commented he feels this for sure is a bull market, and that it will now move up to 1250-1300 from here, and the drop below the 200-day moving average is a big buying opportunity. I agree 100% with him. And the market is over 20% undervalued here, too.

Now up just 80 off the low. 800 on the INDU. Ho-hum, another average day in the market.

80 points or almost 8% up in a little more than 1 hour. Will there be a single person left still believing that this is a free market??

I don't think this was an electronic error at all, despite that they will say that. It was a slow, orderly sell until the last minute. Like '87 and the 'portfolio insurance', this market has no depth, it is almost all electronic, and any unwind causes bids to be pulled. Some stocks traded at .01, one index ETF traded at I think it was 10 cents. That has to do with no depth at all, no bids. This, as Joe Saluzzi was saying, is a fundamental market structure issue (not stock fundamentals, the fundamental trading structure of this electronic market). Look at PG and the drop it took.

That is not error, that is the market we have with no depth, just mindless algos and no volume, and the only bid from carry trade and gov manipulation via primary dealers. Yeah, right, this is a new 'bull' market, with lots more to go, a very undervalued market. It's amazing how the bulls are coming out saying this is a great buying opportunity, and this is not the kind of thing you see at the start of a bear market. I agree 100%. It's the kind of thing you do, see, though in an ongoing secular bear market. But they won't even consider that. Just as they won't consider the real issues why we had a drop like today, they'll just say it was an 'order error'.

Anyway, watch out for the margin calls to hit tonight, and maybe create some additional selling in the overnight. Tomorrow is also the jobs report, which we know will be great and beat market estimates by a longshot. Is it possible, in my opinion, the gov could actually totally fake big numbers tonight as a response to today? Yes, I think it is not only possible, but likely. Just an opinion.
