I would have posted and commented sooner but on any given day one's life may change. My Mother has been stricken with Stage 3 ovarian cancer. Don't forget to say "I love you" to the ones you love everyday.

I understand where you are coming from, and I sympathize. I don't want to take attention from your post here, but this is related. Read the writing after the last chart:

http://www.kanetrading.com/a_comm/06_4Qarc/december/122406_d_comm_arc.html

I wrote this four months after I lost my dad.

One dilemma, and I don't want to be 'morbid' here, but it's real life, is this. I lost two relatives to long, protracted bouts with cancer, and it was horrible. I hated what everyone went through. I swore quick and fast was better. My dad went instantaneously, with no notice, right in the middle of something. I hated that, too. I never got any chance to close anything, to say goodbye, nothing. I always wished I had that chance. But, the cost of that may have been an unpleasant ending for him. There are some cases in between, and for those that are 'lucky' enough for that, I am thankful for those people. Most cases aren't like that. You 'pay' either way.

You have to be thankful for the good part, either you get to say goodbye and that is costly to all, or the person doesn't suffer at all, but you never get real closure. As Dr. House said, you can't die with dignity, dying is always ugly, always, but you can live with dignity ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0606035/quotes fourth quote down). Make the best of the living part, trust me on this. You always think you have more time, and at some point you find out, shockingly, that you don't.
