I'll get it started. This is a holiday week, and for me, that sucks. I am wont to say 'I have no life'. But, I just realized, I don't feel that way at all. My life is the market. What I really mean is 'Outside the market, I have no life'. So, when holidays hit, I kind of hate it. Sometime I even hate weekends. With Sundays (if there is some action), at least I have only one day to muddle through.

Now, as usual, things are on target in the never-ending march onward and upward. I hope I live long enough to see the day when this whole thing implodes, but I suspect maybe I won't. A combination of simply surrealistic ability to extend and pretend combined with my health/luck, and I'll probably kick the bucket the day before it gives way. So, take that as an indicator. If you hear I'm in the big trading pit in the sky, short the heck out of this baby.
Anyway, all joking aside, take a look at this headline:

Here's the link to the full article: http://evilspeculator.com/?p=39382 One of the main takeaways is something I read about years ago. We are not wired for all this information, or our lifestyles. We are wired to walk around with sticks, and never see more than fifty people in our lifetime. As an aside, they did a physiological study that showed every time we see an unfamiliar face, even in a magazine, picture, on TV, etc., we get stressed (even the most calm, confident, happy go luck people, perhaps just less). When we walk down a crowded street and see hundreds of faces we stress, cumulatively, quite a lot, even though we don't sense it. Over time, this takes its toll (with, of course, many other factors like the insane pollution, and chemicals in everything we touch and get our food in. How's that 50% cancer rate looking now?).

We are not wired for this life. That's why headlines like this are appearing right on schedule, and we can expect they always will, like clockwork. This will never change, Our job, if we are to be successful speculators/traders, is to work that to our advantage, and not get sucked in. That is why one of my biggest pet peeves is to see 'traders', some well-respected amongst the amateurs, getting all caught up in the frenzy. It's why I make posts where I sound like I'm super-duper bullish. It's like 'satirical'. It's meant to show what asses those people look like. To bring attention to the concept. I hope my readers get this.

And here's that pathetic article rah-rah'ing the market to 20,000, and more. One thing I can say, if the Dow does hit 20,000 I will likely have stressed to death before that, and if Armstrong is right and we see 32,000 by 2015.75, I'll have long since expired. It will be the greatest money making opportunity I think traders have ever seen, and ever will see, but my own personality, and viewpoint of what's behind it (and what it will lead to), will surely, literally, kill me. So, I expect I am going to miss it. Darn...

Here is a comment (by Andy Fish) from the above 'article' (to me it's not an article, it's a hype propaganda piece for the evildoers):

"I wont be in stocks as I fully expect carnage in the financial markets very soon. Very few see it and the VIX shows just how relaxed everyone is. I dont know what particular events will set it off but it will be terrifying for many and the ramifications will be far reacing and far worse than anything known to date. Life is going to be different.

I fully expect exchange problems and counterparty defaults which makes this a difficult one to trade."

This is exactly what I expect when this does start down. It will not be easy (or perhaps even possible) to trade it, because counterparties will be dropping like flies. Brokerages will fall, accounts will be stolen, trades will be cancelled (only ones you and I are in, trades held by the big players will be vigorously enforced/defended), exchanges will have endless issues or be closed/unreachable, and on and on. In this way I suspect it will be like 1987, but much, much worse, and deeper, as $1,600 trillion in derivatives (by the source I consider most reliable, others say it is 1/2 to 3/4 of this, but so what?) start triggering and cause a cascade, just as 'portfolio insurance' did back then. This dwarfs 'portfolio insurance'.

Anyway, I'm just posting this now (I'm not back in the mode of posting lots of horrible, horrible links about reality) because it is all trading related. We need to watch the sentiment and be ready to be rational when the time comes. We need to understand when it does go, it may be more than just a vicious bear market. So far the bubbles (which are blown as answers to previous bubbles that burst) keep getting bigger and bigger, and the bear markets/reactions are getting more vicious, it seems. So, the next reaction/bear should be bigger, as this run in the markets is quite substantial (when have we seen bubbles in the past in stocks and bonds at the same time?). And people are not seeing that. So, with all those derivatives, we may see infrastructure issues, and that may feed on itself because, as you can see by most people's attitude, they are not prepared at all for this possibility (since they say it isn't even a possibility). We must be.

Here's a comment by Peter Boucher that is rather interesting to ponder, and I am inclined to agree to a great extent:

"The writer is barking up the wrong tree. If you want to write something constructive, convince me that is market isn't a PRICE FIXING SCHEME. That's what you need to compare it to, not bubbles."

Not much to say. Futures are up solidly. New all-time highs again. Totally 'up against it'. SL's galore in here. It 'should' come back in for better prices now (it should be over, bear market, and so on...). But, it may just start the upward acceleration to that mid-1800's area, perhaps this week. It needs to stay solid to hit around 2000 by the January time factor. But, it might start to grind and head for the mid-1800's by Jan. That doesn't see to fit at all, though. But, those are my levels and time, that's all I can work with right now.

Buyable dip here? Hard to buy jammed up against potential resistance, at new all-time highs... But, it's the only game in town right now, too.

Two minutes to the open, then I'm quitting for the night. I'm heavily napped, though, so I could go more if something happens.
