Kicking it off. I'm expecting another insane week, and many more to come, as this thing starts to unravel.

study the fibs for what happened at the turn yesterday too. In spy terms:
the low was at 197.86
180.92 – 208.97 = .382 at 198.25 and .447 at 196.43
198.85 – 206.42 = 1.128 at 197.88
198.55 – 206.26 = 1.128 at 197.56
198.68 – 202.30 = 1.27 at 197.70
price hit median line of bear set (red) shown above with all these in place, as vxx hit fib at line.

What I meant was, there was a decision made to buy assets again, 'risk on'. It started in crude. It hit stocks, and now it's currencies, too, and grains. Massive buying everywhere. So, to kick it off they will find an excuse, as they always do. Big moves frequently start with a news event. They tend to time these together, I feel, on purpose. My point, the educational part for some in here, is that if one is trading the market and a big move happens, and we are seeing it only from a technical perspective, we only see what happened on the charts, what perhaps technically set it up. But in my experience this is pretty much always timed with an 'event'. It shows how much coordination I think there is. It shows the game being played on the world.
Some in here only want to short-term trade the charts, never know or care what is going on in the world, and that is fine. Some (maybe only me, who knows) recognize there is something happening in the world that is a repeat of what has happened historically over and over, but just as warfare capabilities have greatly increased over time (nukes and germ warfare vs. sticks and rocks), financial war has also increased in capabilities. So what is happening is unprecedented in scope. It is so huge that it will one day end all our careers. Hopefully that will be down the line. But it also stands to affect us in every aspect of our lives.
So, to me, a trader who focuses only on the charts day after day, while the end of his or her career approaches, and they remain blind to it, is just a fool. In here I try to motivate people to try to prepare for a currency reset. You can make several million in trading, doing nothing but following the charts, and when they reissue the currency overnight you'll have exactly zero for that effort, and all the charts in the world won't help you at that point. That's why I try to point things out in here. To make more of a contribution that just short-term, narrow focus technical analysis. I don't want to be Nero fiddling while Rome burns. I'm trying to use this opportunity to speak out to people I hope might have a chance to understand, if they care to.
Hence, if you (you being anyone in here) want to forget Greece and focus only on the charts for trading, fine. But if you forget Greece period, don't come crying to me when the currency is reissued and trading is no longer a career, and you have nothing, and no preparations in place. I tried...

forget greece..... As we know geometry always leads the news! Even I was lulled into looking short yesterday after seeing the targets get hit Friday and yesterday. Complex abcd to the kz.....nothing more, nothing less.....and don't be short into an employment report.....just not that hard, is it, if we're paying attention!

jim, you know what I mean.....for me as a trader it is very important to remember that the geometry leads the news.....the news has importance but the geometry is always there first.....it was there yesterday. The moves in the indexes are there to shake money out of traders, and they do an excellent job of it. I still have to clear my head every day of the news and what I think it might mean, and just trade. Also, I had my eye on uso 16 - 16.50 since sometime in late December, and note that came into play Thursday to set up a turn as well. Turns are highly correlated, but I don't allow myself to even thing about causation and what comes first.....

rat, yes, I wasn't saying that we use the news in any way for our trading, as we don't, we could care less. But, part of my mission in here is to do more for people than just have a trading forum and discuss technical aspects of markets. I know that is perhaps what everyone wants, but I've come to have a greater mission. That mission is, like a kid with vegetables, an unpleasant one for most if not all people. I hate the job, but I feel compelled to do it, like it's my duty. That may drive some people away, or everyone away, but at least in the end I will feel like I was true to myself, I tried to the bitter end to attempt to help people see what was coming.
Alas, I know I will fail, and there is so little we can do anyway, but I can't look myself in the mirror if I don't try. So, I had to clarify what I meant about the excuses they use, the games they play, and the endgame to all this. I've become quite a student of history lately, and I have come to realize this has all played out so many times already, and it's following the script to the letter, again, as it always does. And not once in all of recorded human history has the outcome ever varied from the script. Nor will it this time, except the weapons are so much bigger now ($1.6 quadrillion in derivatives). It takes time to unfold, but it is as we speak.
