Delivery Months and Corresponding Letters

Z December
When entering a contract, use the month designations with the appropriate contract.

Depending on the charting package that you are using the format for using the letter with the ticker symbol and year might vary.

If you want the E-mini S&P500 contract for September 2007, for example, on eSignal you would enter ES U7.

Note the following. The ES is the eSignal symbol for the E-mini S&P500 (which happens to be the same as the CME Ticker Symbol but this is not always the case, for example the eSignal symbol for the E-mini Russell 2000 is AB but the CME Ticker Symbol for the E-mini Russell 2000 is ER2). There is a space between the symbol (ES) and the Month/Year combo. The month is U which from the table above you can see lines up with September. The 7 is the last digit from the year 2007.
