It's too bad, I'm seeing all these cool things, setups, price action reads, things in crude, and there is absolutely no one even starting a daily ES topic. I can't believe we rolled dead off a key KT are to start this down move, we bounced right at a key KT area, the roll came after a run up off a key KT area, the shorter moves came off areas, there is so much action, so much to discuss, and so many members in this private forum, and we have zero. I'm not going to start the topics, to have two readers and no comments, or a 'Nice posts, Jim' comment. I don't get it, no one cares. Is anyone even trading/following the market at all? Just doing other techniques? We may be on the cusp of some historic action, and there isn't anyone out there. It doesn't do any good for three or four of you to respond to this with 'I'm still here, Jim', or to start the topic for today as a response to this post. I'm talking about self-motivated participation by a good-sized group of people, and 'it ain't happening'. It's roofer, and me grouching, and that's it. I just can't believe how much I am willing to show, all for free in here, answer questions, and so on, and simply no one cares enough to participate...

Nice work. Yeah, I found today super-duper 'easy'.

In keeping with my post above, and keep in mind, I'm probably just in a bad mood, but I'm back on that ragged edge of getting away from interaction with other traders as far as website and forums, and such. I'd still keep contact with a handful of people I know, but I'm thinking the end of my 'public' journey may be close. I've been having a back and forth by e-mail with a guy who inquired about the .886, motived elsewhere by roofer and his .886 gap posts. Bottom line is, the guy says he has done a bunch of testing, and can't find any edge to the .886 whatsoever. He isn't saying there isn't one, he just can't see it at all. I look at the above charts, I look at what I know and what I've learned since I started, the synergistic factors and so on, and I just want to cry out of frustration. But that's my mistake. I care, and that's just idiotic on my part. Who cares. I need to delete my e-mail addresses and get away from contact, and do what I started out to do, which is do this on my own. Hang out in my home office, and then go live my life. Trying to 'educate' people is just plain stupid. I'm not saying I don't have some good students and that there aren't some great people in here, but overall, including the public exposure, I'm ready for a nervous breakdown. It's just that 'un-fun' when you have to endure the total picture. So, enjoy me while you can, because I have to get out...

THE EDGE COMES FROM TRADING THE .886 ON THE OPENING GAP IN THE CONTEXT OF THE FREQUENCY OF THE LINES!DUHHHHHH!!!!!!!!it is the most powerful algo in the market... but without the frequency of the lines , the computers use it as a trap.... look at the DDM wednesday... price opens on gap.. trades exactly to a .886. then sells off sharply then rockets back through ... why??? duh!!!!because all the geometry of the market was sitting at the higher .886!i'll bet i even know who that trader you mentioned is.as i like to say.'' if my work is so worthless... do i get to keep the money?''

jim -perhaps this will give you some peace and a good chuckle...tim morge has publicly stated that even after years of study, even after his stint as one of the biggest currency traders in the world, even after he was the master of medianlines, he was so in awe of joed's work that he talked to joed about giving it up to master joed's work..joed calmly told him to stick to his guns.... joed was my coach.. he tried mightily on a daily basis FOR 2 YEARS!!! to get me to see the way he sees...I NEVER COULD!!! in frustration, i walked away... we did not speak for 3 years...in those years, in good part based on your thinking, i came to a way of seeing the market that came full circle back to the core principals of joed's way of thinking... but know this... we get the same trades.. but our charts look completely different.joed always said that all good traders will discover the same reality that it is all just geometry.. but each with their own unique technique based on how their brain works.

Yep, exactly, roofer. No edge at all. Nothing I can see...

Yes, you probably do know exactly who it is. I can't even read forums like MG right now, I just get so frustrated. I can't seem to read anything or talk to anyone without getting just too frustrated. It's just the 'retail' crowd. I need to be working with people outside the retail crowd, but that's not likely, and I don't want to work with people any more anyway, except the exceptional few who understand what we are trying to do. I don't care if someone is just starting, it's not that, it's the attitude and willingness to work. So, like you said, the money spends the same, more for us, I should be happy it is what it is, and once I get away from people I will be happy.

And I'm going to take some time off and hang around and golf and work outside, as I mentioned in the commentary. But all that will do is recharge my batteries to take more of the same. That's not the answer. The answer for me is to start working on my exit strategy, so that's what I am going to do.

Well Jim, you've made it. You've been a successful professional trader for more than ten years. I don't know enough about your background to understand how you made the transition and under what circumstances, but I can say from first-hand experience how incredibly difficult it is to try and do so; to be well-capitalized, stay focused and not get discouraged in this stage. We all have our battles to fight. Some have other important 'obligations' such as family, children etc..
There are so many factors that need to be met. Sufficient time and capital being the most important.
Somewhere I read a post about the stages of a developing trader. There were about 30 bullet points and point 25 was listed as 'almost there'. A trader replied saying 'I've been at 25 for the last 5 years'.
I can say for myself that I am trying, but I have no desire to sit in front of this with my teeth and fists clenched and turning into a mental case. I need to live and enjoy it the best I can.
You've given an incredible amount to people and I completely understand your frustration in not finding enough like-minded peers. To be brutally honest, you won't. And that's simply because you are at a level that most will never reach. That's just the nature of things. It's lonely at the top...or as the Buddha would say ' the path to enlightenment is a lonely path', heh heh....
