I'm not sure how to reply, or what I have to add to the thread about the forum being thin.
I don't like to think of either roofer or jim, or anyone here for that matter, having health problems that prevent them from doing what they want. I, like albert, don't generally discuss people's health in semi-public as there are things people don't want to share.
I may never 'get' all that is shared here. The question of whether trading can be taught has been discussed here in a way that is very thoughtful and thought provoking. For me, I can sometimes 'get' jim's posts, and sometimes not - I don't do well without a chart. That may be my problem, but I need visuals. That said, I have learned a lot from jim.
I have been learning from roofer for a few years, and only now 'get' some things that were shown to me a long time ago. For whatever reason, time, context, review and repetition, or a dozen other things seem to contribute to the slow understanding of complex bodies of thought.
As for not posting or replying directly at times.....in addition to trading I have two basically full time occupations....family to be with...people who seem to need my time....illness and deaths of loved ones....there is just time for what there is time for. I have no apologies for who and where I am....I wish there was more of me to go around....more brain power to get things quicker or better...
I'm sure it is frustrating to have the forum be so thin, and wish it weren't...can't say I know what to do about it. I wish jim would show charts here in private once in a while. I wish I could sit and watch each of you trade for just one week. I have a big wish list.
Meanwhile spy seems to be at a very important area here in the pre market...

1239.75 the high today. Pretty coincidental, it goes right to the first area mentioned, checks back right to the most key line, then explodes on 'coincidental' news, again, right to the next level.
Here's another thought I wished I had posted on Sunday night. Really wished I had mentioned it. Recall the last time when we broke all records for any market at any time in history, with that eight or nine day run up in a row. It started with a monster burst up out of nowhere. Just like this one. Now the 'intervention'. Is this another monster run up? I think it may be. 'Normally' I'd say this is it, the next area hit, down we go.
I rather suspect Carl Futia got double whipsawed, calling the change from bear market to 'upside breakout' essentially on the day it reversed, and calling the resumption of the bear right at the low. I'm not putting Carl down at all (and I really hate mentioning any names, as it always leads to some kind of trouble for me...), only saying, how ironic, the way they set him up.

But, I'm wondering if this won't be looking at 1240-50, so that is surely something I am also pondering in my scenario analysis. 1205 area by tomorrow, as I mentioned last night???

One more thought, too. Recall that stat about how we had zero 300+ days in the entire bull up to 2007. Then a slew of them in the bear. I said we'd have none in the upcoming 'bull'. We had I think two right near the Mar low, then none, not one, up to the recent high, coming up on three years. Now we have lots of them again, some, like this week, side by side. Hmmmmm. That tells me the bear is likely still with us.
This is a very, very, very strong indicator that this is indeed still a bear. Even if it sets a new high for the entire 'bull'. What is coming is going to overwhelm all these games they are playing. But they will still play them, they will still manipulate, and the market will have lots of 300-600-900+ up days, as it did before. Just my two cents.

So, I just noticed that if the ES closes above 1209 on Friday, Carl goes back to we are in a bull market. Despite all those 300+ closes...

My 'best' lines come together around 48. But, I suspect, we are going much higher. Much higher. Despite this, which makes a good case:
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/here-what-happened-after-last-global-coordinated-central-bank-intervention
Nonetheless, I'll be 'ready' in here. Not sure how much sleep I'll be getting for the next two days, but the action is just so incredible...
As an aside, I have been thinking we are within two weeks of a total meltdown which could trigger 'the global reset' I've been discussing for years. Now this intervention and talk of a major European bank on the verge of failure:
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/did-large-european-bank-almost-fail-last-night
We are close. So, I think the big-time manipulations have just begun. Up, up, and away... Especially for gold... Kiss your savings goodbye, they are needed elsewhere, so fork them over.

Not a lot of people out there think too much of me, my work, or even roofer's stuff.
http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=230498
I'd like to ramble on and say 'If they only knew...', but I'm past that. They will never know, and it was silly to try to get them to know, or even think they would, or could... It's been a cool journey trying to show what I have come up with, but I've come to realize a few things.
- My need/desire to share this stuff (while still retaining the proprietary nature of 40,000 hours of hard work) is/was something that was never meant to be. This is a journey I (and you) must make alone.
- My desire to not 'take much of this to the grave' is futile. I will, indeed, take over 90% of what I have learned to the grave. Mostly, because no one will do the work I have, as I have, and see what I see. Many will do other work, and see other things, but no one will know more than 10% of what I specifically see. And that is just the way it works. End of story.
- As we all face our own mortality, I realize the time it would take to train someone from scratch to a level I would feel 'satisfied' with, so I could say I didn't take it all to my grave, is not likely possible before my own mortality kicks in. And no one is in line to start that process at this point. Hence, I now face that my need to pass much of this on can not be fulfilled.
- I need to just enjoy my trading (which, as I said, I enjoy more than anything I've ever done in my entire life), and have a little fun passing on what amounts to small tidbits here and there, many of which are not understood. Learn to enjoy doing something in solitude, and not being able to share it.
- I think of myself as like an Einstein, Bruce Lee, Tiger Woods, etc. (not in an arrogant way, just in a 'gifted' way, and heck, maybe I'm dead wrong about that), but ultimately one whose work and concepts will mostly stay unknown, and those that are known will be misunderstood. I mean, anyone who thinks my biggest accomplishments are the new Fibs I quantified understands nothing of what I have done. This is as it has been for many gifted people in the past, and it will be so in the future. It's just the most frustrating thing I've ever experienced...
Just some thoughts 'made public', so people can have some insight into my thinking.

Incredible charts, roofer.
Yeah, you have it covered. But, alas, it is futile. That's why we were exiled (or I was) to the private forum. I mean, the work we show, much of it in advance, the things we see and post (in advance), over and over, how we explain it all, not just post, how we are willing to answer questions, even take on occasional students, and I am not missed even slightly out there. All those posts, all that contribution, and not one single person e-mailed me and said they wish I would post out there, not one post saying what a waste, to drive Jim out. Nope, no one cares. All they do out there (and I mean in all forums, not specifically here) is slam.
Look at that thread for my books at Elite. It's comical, and I'm so far beyond discouraged it is unreal. My work, roofer's work in here, to me it's just so profound, amongst the best material ever discovered in the markets by anyone in any time period in market history (that's my honest opinion). And all people do is attack it, instead of see it for what it is, and go nuts absorbing it. I give up. F#%& 'em. You can lead a horse to water (or the best champagne in the world)...
