The crazy thing is the high there, it's the site of so many beautiful symmetries it's just unreal. rat has shown some in his nice charts, and I have my own, too, based on my work. The confluences are wonderful. But, alas, it is countertrend, and lotsa markets are now at or close to all-time new highs. The ES is not far from its all-time highs. The move into the high was explosive, indicating potential climax.

Normally I'd be champing at the bit to probe the short side off something like that. Perhaps it is a great idea. In this case, I don't think I'd short it if you gave me the money and added that you'll pay the taxes on any profits. I think I'd pass. This thing is so manipulated it's beyond comprehension, and I just have lost any mood to fight it (wait, have I just capitulated at the very top???). I've even lost my mood, even to joke, about it giving some downside. I still, foolishly, clung to some hope it might be topping or getting ready for some kind of decent checkback.

Notice how I said I didn't think it would trade 24.50 if they were planning the rocket run I was anticipating? Well, after starting up off 24.75 they did 'retest' it and just tick 24.50 (probably just to mess with me and my read), and then go straight up. Oops, off by a tick on the start of a near 20 point run. Sorry, I'll try to do better next time.

So, is this going to pull back in off this marvelous symmetry in here? Although that would usually be a given, I'm not so sure. The S&P is just over thirty points from its all-time highs. Why not go for those? After that, why not run it up some more? I think pullbacks have become passe, out of style. They simply aren't needed any more. Until some 'bad news' comes out, and it would have to be catastrophic bad news (since really, really bad news usually gooses the market up nicely), this thing has zero reason, in my opinion, to go down.

Hence, I'm just going to keep focused on the long side, and completely ignore all the feeling of angst and worry I have about how technically silly that seems. In fact, after almost forty points straight up to a super-key area, I'm thinking 'add-on spot'. Seriously.

All is as it should be. Notice that they are already heralding that we are now 'out of the woods'.

Buy, buy, buy.

Here's what Stanley Druckenmiller has to say. Stanley Frickin' Druckenmiller.

Krugman, my second favorite guy behind Bern-Qwacke, said in an interview last night that he thinks the gub-er-mint needn't make any cuts for the next ten years. None. I haven't seen anyone I think is as psycho as he is since I saw 'Silence of the Lambs' for the first time. Just my humble opinion.

Analysts on Bloomberg, and floor traders, are all saying this market is going way higher. Time to buy. One famous guy said he would rather buy a new all-time high than a dip, I think is basically how he said it. It's all buyers. I thought it was bad before. Now I just heard 'Europe is stable, Asia is accelerating, the fiscal cliff is fading...' And the P/E of the Dow is 20% lower than at the 2007 high, so is this a better quality high than back then? Look at the article I just posted about the differences. Where are those points? They don't mention them.

Hmmmm. Nothing ever changes.

A 100% controlled market (albeit one that I think is extraordinarily tradeable). It reminds me of the intro to the old 'The Outer Limits' TV show.

There is nothing wrong with your charting platform.
Do not attempt to adjust it.
We will control the market highs.
We will control the pullbacks.
We can make it go up, or we can make it go sideways.
We can gun it up, or we can grind it up slowly, day after day.
We can take it down hard any time we want to.
We will control all that you see and hear.
You are about to participate in a great adventure.
Just sit back...

Yes, I am a doom and gloomer, yes, I see the end coming (I can't say how long until they take it all down), and yes, I think I can do more for my readers with this stuff than by posting more trading techniques. But, that's just my opinion.

I know, I know. This is all that is in my head over the last few years. I just know what they are doing, and I'm a big student of history. I'm a firm (firm) believer in 'It's never different this time'.
