Purpose is to compile important quotes that have been posted in this forum and that have can't miss information whether obvious or read-between-the lines.
This sticky is meant so they don't fall between the cracks.
Most of these are going to be from Jim, but other members like Roofer and T have posted valuable insights here as well.

when i am asked what of joed's sayings has most deeply influenced me, it is the following, meant in two ways.
EACH MUST STAND ALONE....
1 each must stand alone.. before you add a setup to your trading, know that setup so well that you will be willing to stake your family's financial well being on that setup alone to the exclusion of all else.anything less than that, don't trade it.
2 each must stand alone... each trader must find their own path to what they can see in real time...

Okay, it's not trading related, and perhaps should be posted in the economics section instead of here, but it is one hell of a quote:
"This new America is alien to me -- it is an America of greed and corruption and avarice and mean spirited selfishness and hatred of the common good -- it is an America of savage beasts roaring and tearing at the weak, and bullying the humble and peacemakers and poor and those without means to defend themselves. I am not welcome here anymore. I don't belong here anymore. It's as if some evil beast controls government, the economy, and our lives now."

It is worth reading and passing on.

I know I'm drifting off the topic for this thread, posting economic quotes instead of useful trading quotes from this forum, but since this area gets so little activity, what the heck.
"Gentlemen, I have had men watching you for a long time and I am convinced that you have used the funds of the bank to speculate in the breadstuffs of the country. When you won, you divided the profits amongst you, and when you lost, you charged it to the bank. You tell me that if I take the deposits from the bank and annul its charter, I shall ruin ten thousand families. That may be true, gentlemen, but that is your sin! Should I let you go on, you will ruin fifty thousand families, and that would be my sin! You are a den of vipers and thieves."
Who said it? Someone last year (okay, the ten thousand families instead of ten million dates this...), someone yesterday? Is it about JPM, C, BAC, WFC, or GS? No, it was said by... Andrew Jackson. Things never change with these scum. Only the scale of the screwing changes.

"the value to me of a 3D headed into a PTA is huge, but a 3D that isn't at a PTA is essentially useless to me. So, is this a key PTA in here?"

Well, since Duane (Duane!, you need to post more!) liked that one, I guess I'll keep perverting this thread and mix in other quotes with the great trading quotes this topic was created for...
"These are the times that try men's souls; the summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of his country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph."
Thomas Paine

Sorry I'm trashing this thread...
"I spent 33 years and four months in active military service and during that period I spent most of my time as a high class thug for Big Business, for Wall Street and the bankers. In short, I was a racketeer, a gangster for capitalism. I helped make Mexico and especially Tampico safe for American oil interests in 1914. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in. I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefit of Wall Street. I helped purify Nicaragua for the International Banking House of Brown Brothers in 1902–1912. I brought light to the Dominican Republic for the American sugar interests in 1916. I helped make Honduras right for the American fruit companies in 1903. In China in 1927 I helped see to it that Standard Oil went on its way unmolested. Looking back on it, I might have given Al Capone a few hints. The best he could do was to operate his racket in three districts. I operated on three continents."
