I'll start the topic for today, but I want to mention I am struggling with my health issues right now, so I may not be posting that much. We'll see.

Well, the ES is up solidly, about 8 points now from the 'bull' market high. Gold hit 1798 (rounded), the dollar is crushed, as expected, and crude has just made a move of over $4 (ouch) 'straight up'. So far, so good.

I think this may want to try for the 'bull' market high, and as soon as possible. I'd say tomorrow is likely, or by Friday, but I think sooner. Look for the USD to get crushed (what's new), and for gold to succeed in its shot at that $1,800 mark. I can't say how much I wish that none of this happens...

So, will the new 'bulls#%&' market high come on the overnight run up to the jobs report, or on the 'news'?

Note the Dow is under 60 points from its high. Seems quite doable by tomorrow. 60 little points? It could do that into the close if it wanted...

Note the retail index is about two points from new all-time highs.

Just waiting on the burst into the close. It's fun to ponder how they will get it to new 'bull' market highs tomorrow. Over night, on the news, slow grind up all day tomorrow, etc.

Hmmm, no burst into the close. Very surprising.

Okay, phew, there's the burst. One point from the HOD. I knew it should close strong. Now let's see if they do anything with after-cash.

Well, I expected the possibility of a much stronger ES move into new highs, but I'll have to settle for now with it getting within two points of the high (right to a key area). The Dow and the retailers did go ahead and set new highs for the 'bulls#%&' market today. Gold is struggling less that $2 from that key $1,800 level.

My read was 'okay', but the level of weakness that is hanging around surprises me. I thought it was more likely it would decisively take out the highs, then do some selling. Now the key question is, will this dip give it a launch pad for the new highs, or will the weakness be more pervasive (I sure hope so...)?
