I'll start it off. I'm still trying to figure out how to be useful in my posting and not post hundreds of times per week. I can't seem to not get carried away. (That's why I never post in the early AM session, where it takes more concentration.) Then I burn myself out, and use up my precious resources that I should be reserving for my health issues. And I'm only posting a fraction of what I'm seeing... It just drives me nuts to see all this and not try to post it. I do have to come up with a solution.

jim- what i would find most useful and at the same time might help traders focus AND cut down on your posts would be if each week you only post examples of one thing per week.my 2 cents

One more thing as far as roofer's 2 cents, he mentioned posting examples. If people want charts they won't be in real time, they'll be after-the-fact. No way I can do charts, even simplified versions, and watch the market as closely as I have to. What I am doing now is almost all before-the-fact. If you want charts, all the in advance goes away, and I become like every other wannabe out there posting things with well-chosen examples after it has happened. I need feedback or you'll have no say in what I do. And, the way I've been feeling lately, I'm thinking of backing off on the posting anyway, so that is another possible solution for me...

my two cents...

while I understand you don't want to post charts real time, I learn by charts.. so seeing your charts with setups and what trend lines I missed is way more valuable to me than a blow by blow of the ES. It is all good... just one is better :)

Jim, for me the best way of learning is a real time posting from you (and it really doesn't need to be as extensive as it was lately to serve its purpose), with an after-the-fact chart occasionally (maybe a little bit more frequently if it's not a problem?). I know that if you are going to post more charts you will cut down on real time posts, irrespective of your health issues, but I think it may work great.
I believe the mechanism of learning in this forum is as follows: when one reads your in-advance post he will try to figure out how did you figure out given area, read price action for clues etc. When one sees an after-the-fact chart with your lines and/or comments and can compare it with his work, he can see what was missing or wrong in his chart. This way we get a synergy of unassisted analysis (in fact that's not really unassisted, because we start our work basing on your posts) and your direct indication of tools that marked given spot, shown in a chart.
And of course,it may work only if such a way of teaching is not in conflict with your health. We all appreciate your great effort in running this great forum the way it is.
Just my opinion.

Jim, I would actually find your after the fact charts quite useful. Either I saw it at the time, kind of saw it but not quite or totally missed it, but seeing what you saw afterwards would help me with the context.

I would rather have a chart that comes after, and have you maintain your health.

Okay, so I've got some ideas from that feedback. Thanks. I would like to hear from say tomo, EricD, and pink64 to see what they think. Part of my issue is that I'm scarred (heavily scarred) by my experiences out in the public area of this forum. I was shredded to bits, even called a troll, the worst thing that can ever be said to someone in a forum, it's the forum equivalent of calling a woman the 'c' word when I was growing up. No one stuck up for me, in fact they seemed to join in. The point was I was just another vendor selling products and that my work had little to no validity.

In here, I know, the opinion is different, but I carry those scars. It's hard to believe someone who has the skill set I have could be affected, no less severely scarred. But, I'm the sensitive type, and so I am affected. The thing I heard out there so much was where's the before the fact stuff. So, I tend to focus on that. Anyone who wants to study my posts in here and make comments about where's the before the fact stuff, or wants to debate my skills, well, good luck on that one. Best they'd do is make a huge ass of themselves trying that.

My track record stands on its own in here. And, honestly, that's a big part of why I post so much. I'm trying to get over all that scarring. Unless you've put it all out there, made a huge effort and endless posts, in a community where you thought you were highly respected, a community environment where you felt trust, only to be turned on and attacked and just ripped to shreds, well, then you don't know how that feels.

Look, I didn't have to put any of this out there. I haven't made squat, in the bigger picture, from selling the books. And I got nothing from all those posts I made out there. I put myself out there, opened up my ideas to people, for free. Look at how much I have done, for free, on the website. When you do all that and then get destroyed, then you'll understand. So, I'm trying to make that up to myself by doing endless before the fact posts to show, in a track record sort of format, that all those shredders are wrong, and I do have the good stuff.

I just want to be up front and explain to everyone why doing after the fact charts is not that appealing to me. Plus, there is a limit to what I am willing to show in a forum, as far as charts and my proprietary work. I have mentor students in here, too, not just book set buyers. If I give them the levels they can do work that can't even be discussed in here, and they can see if they are on the same page as me. Anyway, this is some of what I am looking at.

I didn't forget you, Al, I just think I know your opinion, that's why I didn't mention you. Same with some other names, if I didn't mention you it's not that I don't value your opinion, please feel free to post it.
