I'll start the week out. Here's an interesting article on one of the key high fliers that I follow.

I guess the pop must be because a government shutdown is so great for the economy, right?

Okay, anyway, I just got long 10,000 contracts.

And please, please, please, don't take this literally.

This is an interesting view. Armstrong, for example, would likely vehemently disagree (actually, I think he'd give out a belly laugh). Nonetheless, it's one way this thing could blow up. I suspect, though, if they even shut down at all tonight they'll quickly come up with some total BS stopgap measure. The market tends to go up during shutdowns, so it should be fine. Insane...

Time for the ES to really start rising. The House passed another revision, the Senate will reject it, the gov will shut down in under three hours. I think those are next to ideal conditions for a strong rise in the ES.

BTW, after the ES rises on the shutdown, they will pass something, some temporary stopgap measure, and the ES will rocket. It does sound right, when you think about it. Very sensible, very logical.

Senate rejected bill as expected. Back to the House. Said no O'bummercare restrictions. ES is up now over the HOD, and ready to close that Sunday gap (by some measures it is already closed). Anyway, like I said... How them 10,000 contracts lookin' now?

Yeah, the markets like government shutting down. So, even though the government is actually driving the market higher via the Fed, the market must like full on Fed and no expenditures going out, so that's more money to pump into the ES. I guess that's the reasoning. Whatever it is, you know it must be amazingly sensible, or the markets wouldn't do it. They always do the smartest, most rational thing. Efficient market, they call it.

Maybe the ES can hit new all-time highs by tomorrow.

P.S. Please, everyone, see the layers of thick sarcasm in just about everything I am saying. Seriously, if I hear of even one person taking what I am saying on face value I will never trade again, quit mentoring, quit this forum, and retire. And that's not a sarcastic comment. It's just nuts I even have to explain this...
