Just starting it off. I wonder if they'll keep doing late day rapid-sells, or was that just a holiday week anomaly?

Yep. But imagine if we double from here, like Armstrong says. How can that not go down in history with Tulipmania and the South Seas bubble? In my opinion, it will.

Hard to believe it is going to blow out to the upside. If it does, and it may, to me that will be an historic event in residence with only a handful of events of such magnitude throughout history. But what do I know...

Then add this to the above. But, alas, since the bad guys see this (as does everyone else) I can't imagine it 'working'. But, maybe a throwover and then down? Ah, who am I kidding, it's going to explode to the upside and double, in the most heinous orgy of depravity in recorded history. It's going to make the last days of Caligula look tame... Ugh.

I keep trying to think how to jazz this up in here, what other approaches I could take. Then I realize I have maybe four readers per day, mostly the same ones. One of those is, as I said, a previous student who is doing his own thing, and he just follows along in here. So, whatever I do, for example, isn't going to matter to this guy. That leaves three. rat has his approach, and although I'm sure he enjoys my posts, he has his job and his own approach, so will it matter to him if I mix it up a bit one way or another? Now we have maybe two. A rotating two perhaps, but two. And that's when I get discouraged, and just keep the current approach. I guess I want more from my interactions. But, you can't make a silk purse from a sow's ear.
There's almost no one in here. I have no idea what would be a good approach. I have no idea if I'm just trying to do something that's not really doable, trying to make my life a bit more fulfilling, and that fulfillment, that enjoyment, isn't going to come from a forum with four visitors a day. I'm just thinking out loud here. I guess maybe what I need is a trading room like roofer used to use (or still does, who knows). That way there are people around, some human contact, I don't know. But I'm guessing all those people are doing their own thing, and surely wouldn't want to talk during trading. So, perhaps that wouldn't be of any good to me at all.
Anyway, not that anything will come of it, but if anyone had an idea, just so I would know what would be interesting to people, what would be so useful that you think lots of people would simply feel compelled to be there every day, feel free to mention it. I would just love to know what would get people saying 'That xyz trading room, I simply can't imagine living without it.'. That's what I'd like to know.

The old chat room with scott was a lot of fun. I think it made me pay attention more as I didnt want to miss out on your good senses about trading. The realtime interaction is beneficial imo as it helps get quick guidance to what/how to look for certain clues and over time it builds a natural flow of doing things in our mind. Then if you can review the transcript of the day's trading to get more detailed information on things you might ve missed out on. For me, it did help a lot. and my trading skills have grown leaps and bounds since. It kept me interested and focused on solidifying my understanding of Jim's trading methods. The live interaction kept me from being discouraged or wandering in another fruitless path. I too now have developped my own methods for my own trading but Jim's guidance from the chat rooms was the spark and source.
I think a live chat environment is better than static posts like these for sharing thoughts and learning along with the master J.

Okay, thanks, Tony. I do recall how much fun that was in those days. But, when I tried that in more recent times I found it was an awful distraction and I was unable to do it at all. Maybe over time I could re-acclimate, but given my health issues, I fear not. But that's good feedback, and I'll surely take it into account.

Check out the margin chart here:
http://slopeofhope.com/2013/12/another-ominous-chart.html
Only read the first part, up to the paragraph below the chart.
Here's Hussman's chart, showing the log-period function for the price action. It's getting close...

Only read, once again, until the paragraph after the chart. Interesting charts, huh? When this baby gives way, essentially no one will see it coming. Yet it seems so obvious to me. I just hope Armstrong isn't right. A doubling from here will surely send me to the booby hatch, staring at the rubber walls in my straight jacket, no joking...

Anyway, that last chart, to me, says 1900-2000 by Jan (how long ago did I post that?), then we head down to take out that 666 low and fulfill that big megaphone. I wonder what type of shock event is going to happen in January to start it off, so that everyone can say 'No way you could have seen that coming, it was a real Black Swan event. Without that, it surely would have kept going a lot longer.'?
