I don't know why, maybe just the mood I'm in and/or my usual lack of sleep, but this seems so 'dramatic' the way it chopped on the area so much. Yes, I have some proprietary things that explain why it is moving now (if this is a 'real' move at all...), but it just seems 'off' to me. So, I can't wait to see in hindsight if it does bounce up here, or what it does, so I can get some more 'context' for this, to better understand what just happened.

they waited for the last possible minute.....need to close it strong because it is so close to being done and the short trade can't work here.....notice how iwm led here.....fascinating...

Yep. When I 'smooth it out' looking at the 5-min instead of the 1-min, it's just an inverted H&S (which is to say waves 3-4-5 in and 1-2-3 out), with a 'retest' of the 'head' before the right shoulder formed, all as a higher low. Really typical, straightforward price action. It's just 'odd' or 'off' how it acted as this formed, when watched on the 1-min. I can't really say exactly how, but just 'odd'. Maybe I'm just too fuzzy-headed to try to sort out the order I usually find in chop, and maybe I'm just 'off' today. Or, maybe not... Anyway, it's time to see if some real upside comes, or not.

Here's a comment from over at Slope of Hope:

"TF is jumping around like spit on a griddle.
The big boys are loading up for a move."

Yep, like I was sayin', the behavior in there was just 'odd'.

Anyway, I wonder how long this ride is going to last. I mean, this ride on this play off the low there.

Not much to say except let's see if we get a nice run into the close, or not. I'm 'betting' we will, but if not, that's what trade management is for. The way it looks right now, it looks like no way it will happen. And yes, this is a bearish ABCD up against the obvious TL. The main reason for thinking long is the area at the LOD, the bearish setup is obvious, and it's the last hour on a Friday that was 6.50 points from the all-time high.

Well, the most important thing for me, assuming I don't know, is to be able to estimate probabilities, look for a 'safe' place in, and then be able to read and accept (the latter is a big failing of many aspiring traders, IMO) what actually happens, and react accordingly (according to the 'Trading Plan'). That's all we can do as traders, and if the plan is a net positive outcome plan, that's all we need to do. Get in, deal with the ugly, and grind it out on the seats of our leather a#@es. That's my take.
