They are trying to close cash at or as close to the highs as they can.

Maybe in after-cash they can goose it up and over. I suspect they are happy, for now. Maybe wait for some Jackhole (oops, I mean Jackson Hole) comments, then explode it. It's one easy day away from new all-time highs.

Two ticks (well, and then a tick to get it) from a new high for the move.

On the higher timeframe everything happens between here and say 75. 69 here to 75. Now, as I have pointed out, I don't like to bet on bearish 'W2's' in a manipulated market. There have been more of these places since '09, as there are in any uptrend, than I could count. Pretty much all of them have 'failed'. It's not so much a failure, in reality, as it is that the trend is in continuation mode, so there really is no bearish 'W2'. It's only when we anticipate a move that is not actually happening that we see the potential spot, if the bearish scenario were, indeed, happening. So, here we are again.

As much as I wish the top was in, it likely isn't. As much as I don't want that 'guru' who is running his yap off about the market going up much higher (wait, aren't all gurus saying that?) to be right, I can't imagine this is going to turn down in here. As much as I want this nightmare to end (for those new to this forum, I think the trading potential itself is about the best I have ever seen or could hope for, I only mean the nightmare for the average citizen that this nonsense is wreaking or will wreak upon all of us), I suspect Armstrong may be right in that we probably have another year to go. And to do that, it will have to break way above the weekly/monthly median line set upper //. That's something I just can't stomach the thought of seeing. But, I must be ready.

Lastly, notice after the last correction about the same size as this one it went about as far up as this one has, and then went into heavily overlapping swings until it cleared itself out and blasted higher, in a long, extended move. So, we may see a reaction in this area, similar to the last time, which then sucks in a lot of people, and that will free it up to run up. We'll see.

I mentioned making a post after the market closed, and here it is. One of the challenges with heading a forum, or being an educator, especially one with limited time and energy, is what to post, when to follow up, and how to do a 'TV sound bite' approach, since in reality what I do, at my level, is very complex, and I can't explain it in a sentence or two. It can be very difficult, and very frustrating.

One of my biggest frustrations is when I try to show alternative, high-level ideas, which many times can be countertrend, and counter to what I think is likely to happen, and what I may, personally, want to trade. The frustration comes from pointing one of those setups out, then not following up when that play signals to me it isn't working, and I'm looking back at the original direction, and it does, indeed, make the trend move. This leaves me sounding like I'm on the wrong side of the market. I'm frequently on the wrong side (although one member in here, who used to watch me live in a chat room years ago, said I was the person who was on the right side of the market more than any other person he had ever seen), and I'm fine with that, and I'm happy to own up to that immediately, but I hate to not follow up in a post, be on the right side, then have to do an after the fact 'you need to believe me on this' post saying I really did see it shift the other way.

I try to do posts that say, for example, if it weakens I'll be all over it, and such. The situation that has me frustrated right now is that I was expecting higher prices, and have posted my next key area way in advance. 65-70, and as it developed, 70-75 seemed to be a bit better. So, on Sunday I expected up into today. But, thinking as an advanced very short-term trader, I was also thinking about how I knew they'd blast it up to make up that big drop ASAFP, as they are wont to do. They couldn't quite get it on Friday, so I posted then I thought they'd leave it for Sunday. Sunday pops open big, and it gets one tick over that previous high (with even a last little push to do it). My thinking was it was a reasonable trade right off that as soon as it showed the slightest rollover on say a 13-tick chart. The play is in case they dump it, even to a KZ off the run up, closing the gap. That could allow nice cushion to really watch and read it.

Now, as it comes in, which showed the possible entry discussed and read was valid, it did a signature my more recent students should recognize, right to the very first lowest degree area, and that was a huge warning, a big red flag. It turned, and in my opinion, the read was simple that it likely was going to either roll sideways, or start up, based on a probability viewpoint. The play was for a flush, not a grinding downmove. There were two degree appropriate pullbacks (I liked the first one) to get on the long side. The first happened right around 23:00 PM (all times Eastern). The second shot was just before 6:00 AM. There was also a nice dip right into the European open time 3:00 AM. All those were reasonable plays, in my opinion, and were surely the side I was looking at. I actually, again, almost posted this, but was just too tired by then and not in the mood to post. I even woke up and checked it right around that 6:00 AM one, and thought for a second about a post, and realized the complexity of what I'd have to say, so I just went right back to bed.

It is very challenging to do a lot of posts, do your own thing with the market, and then keep track of what posts were made, what impressions they left, and so on. Granted, this is a purely educational venue (and a free one at that), no calls are made of any kind, so I really have no obligations, in a sense, with any of this. But I post my reads as close to real time as possible, to provide an educational value that differs from the typical one provided just from charts. Most people like charts because they are visual and easy to look at. I have no time or energy to post charts, and when I'm active it's completely unrealistic for me. So, I add in what others don't, as close to real time reads and trading viewpoints as I can. Heavy emphasis on concepts. If you want to see endless charts, you have the books, my archived paid and free commentary, and if you want more, and want to see the current markets, then you'll have to mentor with me. This isn't an ad, and of the few in here many, sometimes most, have already mentored, all I am saying is these are the options.

So, going forward I will try harder to clarify, beyond saying this is a potential trade only for the very advanced trader who is very nimble and quick to react and cover/flip, and specifically say this is my viewpoint. Some of these I point out I am not really looking to take, only to point them out, the idea being if a trader told me they took that one I wouldn't disagree with the reasoning. I'm doing the best I can...

Nothing but 'management mode' on the long side. It's in the heart of a key area, so that would be factored into the plan, according to the methodology. Now we see.

Not many know that lately I've been assisting my better half with 'landscaping' our front and side yard and doing the garden. She relocated a nearly eight year gardening project (flowers, shrubs, tress, and vegi's) when we moved. What we didn't know was the place we bought has the worst clay soil I have ever seen in my entire life. When we get closer to completion I'll post a picture or two in here. We won't finish entirely before the brutal non-stop rain gets here in the fall, but we'll be pretty far along, enough for some pics. In the meantime, here's what we're working with. No, those aren't rocks, that's the soil.

And by the way, that's not concrete below the wheelbarrow, that's the ground we are working with.
