I'll start it off. The big event this week is the Scottish independence vote. A yes vote (which I wish for more than I wish for S&P at 400, and you know how I live for that) would cause a 'wee bit' of volatility. But, alas, I think the odds of that are essentially zero. Why? 'They' don't want it, so the election, like ours with Bush/Gore, will simply be rigged. Now Catalonia, that's a different story. I think they will, indeed, split, but the markets will not react to that at all (or maybe go up a bit just to 'prove' it's nothing to worry about). I suggest being careful around that Scottish voting results time.

Another buyable dip, or add-on spot.

This really should start setting itself up for a 'better prices in the AM', though, I'd think. Maybe grind endlessly, then even a pop on the European open, then a slow trickle down. But, it's hard to know what they'll do.

Now that the 'No' vote Scotland results are coming in, the ES is starting to respond. Management mode is not going to work up a sweat for some time, I suspect.

Cable's ramping nicely, up about 500 pips off the recent low.

Nice buyable dip there, too.

Looks like the Scotland vote will be 54% to 46%. Too bad. Now we wait on Catalonia.

I know this is just a tease, but with 8 of 32 reporting, Scotland is now a dead heat. Many of the big areas have yet to report, so it actually could go either way now. I know there is essentially no one in here (only the same tiny crew again today), but if you want to follow live here's the link. You may need to refresh it for updates.

That didn't last long. Another one reported, and the 'No' vote is back in the lead. I knew they were just getting my hopes up so they could crush me.

Now with 14 reporting it's a landslide for the 'No' vote. Darn, they had me being hopeful again for a moment, before they yanked the rug out from under me.
