Starting it off. I'll quote my last post from last week.
"Anyway, the ES did something it usually doesn't do, and that's make any kind of move in the Friday after close mini session. This time it kept moving up, set a new high for the entire move, and closed almost at the high tick. It is now fully at the monster weekly backtest line. If this is a bear market, it should roll off this, and roll hard. There is a key area above, built from the immediate price action, and that comes in at 76-87, with a grouping of key Fibs at 94.00-95.50. I could see it hitting the lower end of the area, maybe a little above the lower end, and still be respecting the key TL backtest, but not much more.
Still, does it even seem remotely feasible that this is going to dump to significant new lows from here? The only hope I see at all is that not only do all pundits and analysts say no, it's completely and utterly an impossibility, most readers in here, I believe, are also saying no out loud right now. And that's not meant as a slight to the readers in here, who are among the most highly informed out there, I feel, it's more meant to imply just how good they are at sucking people in. We'll see. I don't really care, from a trading standpoint, what these maniacs do with it. So, that's what I'm working with as we reach arguably the most critical juncture perhaps in trading history."

It 'should', it's the key backtest area, a perfect pattern, and so on. But, nothing trumps manipulation, and that's part of what we deal with. The understanding that it's not a balanced market.

That one more pump up there might have ended it, and the area is going to be respected. We'll see. I can't imagine it, but it is set up nicely for it. All I know is I am back to having the urge to short this at every opportunity possible. I'll need to think how much of that may be from spite, and how much is a good, solid understanding of the technicals. I'll be pondering that extensively today.

Die, pig, die? This time not at a point where I expect they must come in. Just because I wish it would.

ES has a timing factor in here to come out of this range any time now. Again, why do we see this so often around this time of night? It tends to want to move around the open, which is over five hours away. Most times it doesn't respect the timing because of the time of night, but recently we had a few examples where it did respect it quite well. We'll see.

Here's TK's OEX version of my SPX weekly chart. We are so there, if anything was going to happen, it needs to be now. On the other hand, everybody sees this...

The ES is now fully at the timing factor (it did a lot of stalling since the last post, to drag it out closer to the open, which is the most common thing it does), and it is making it look like it wants 'up' aggressively. Again, that may all be a ruse, a trap setup. I'm just pointing out that it is creating that impression right now, and I strongly doubt that is a 'coincidence'. I love to watch these play out, to add one more case to my stockpile.

Just woke up and doing a quick check. After that nice, sustained gun up out of the range they smacked it it down hard right off an area. I hope it follows up with some additional selling. This is an area here it could struggle, so it needs to clear it out and keep dropping. I'm still not sure how they will work this drop into the opening action (my hope is 'sustained selling'). Back to sleep, as that morning action will be here all too soon.
