ES clearly likes to close at a key area as Jim pointed out many times recently:
Friday's breakout after a trendline creep was rather unconvincing and the green set could be still in force. However the journey to its downsloping ML would be rather uncommon taking into account the time of the year...

And there's another new high for the 'bulls#%&' market. What a grind. Back to my upper //'s once again. They aren't even bothering to bring it down overnight anymore, or in the AM. And every time it hits its seeming top for the day, as it just did, I go short side intraday bias. I hate to fight a trend like this, and I think the highest odds are it grinds up right to the close, but one of these times they'll let it go, and it will likely be a big move, so I go with that approach. If I thought the upside was any more than a grinding few points, I'd not want to go against it. Just some thoughts.

BTW, going against the trend here i.e. playing countertrend, is not the standard KT methodology. It is a technique I can use at times based on a tremendouns amount of experience. I advise all those newer to the methodology not to attempt this. I post it to show what I am thinking at my own level, so the concepts, especially price action reading, can be studied.
Note that my comments about going countertrend using KT skills is diffferent than roofer's style using his setups, which many times are 'countertrend'. Those setups stand on their own, and when hit, are played by him, and I think they are great setups. Just don't confuse his setups and my comments on using KT countertrend, as they are two different things.

Staying ES short side bias in here, but it is right back to the price flow, so I'm getting very cautious. This is where they most likely will pick it back up if that is their intention. If not, it could break down big time. I don't see that, but in case, I'll just see what it does here.

Watch CL in here. They need to hold this level, or it may flush down, bringing 'risk on' into question.

Notice ES stopped dead at that price flow. It may not hold it, but it did stop the drop in its tracks. Very interesting, and expected.

Okay, another spot on read. Made it up to 53.25 so far, right back to the price flow. Not a claim, but an observation supported by posts in here: made the read going down, made the read for the terminus, made the read for the long side. Not bad, epsecially for a crap action day and the S&P at a 17-year narrow range.
