Let's see if this works....never tried to start a new topic...

having bounced off the .886 friday, will it aim into the area of interest up at the .886 of last week's high, or into the box at 1.128 - 1.27, and what will it do up there?

There is some symmetry in that both blue arrows are at .886....ultimately you might expect a move that mirrors the mid march - may move, but without a significant pullback into an abcd, which we haven't seen yet?

And the Swissie hits 1.2372 on that news. Trade o' da day, week, month, and probably year.

Looking at 1.24 minimum on the Swissie off that big flat ABCD.

Nope. The news just keeps coming. I like it, I want downside, but up until now, the worse the news, the bigger the ramp. Obviously the gov knows the worse the news, the more it would sell, under unmanipulated circumstances, so the more they must set the tone and manipulate it. This way, sellers don't even dare try to sell it. This works, until they lose control and it doesn't work. Then it implodes, in one shot. That's my take.

Gold about 9 away from 1600, at another new all-time high. Got there faster than I thought. I can't imagine it slowing down before 2000, though, and maybe not then. We'll see. I may be way off on that.

Al,
I didn't get the same .886 point. A question that came up with Rat and maybe you do it differently. When you say "measured from half-gap point", are you measuring just the gap itself. Or do you include the high of the open bar or the low of the close bar?

The gap is so small that I can't tell by looking at the chart.

ches,

Good point. Sorry for the confusion. I measure "up" opening gaps from the high of the previous session's close bar to the low of the next session's opening bar. Half that distance would be a "half-gap." I did this on a 1 minute chart. I did not use a five minute chart.

Does this help?

Just doing my usual bathroom stop and check the charts. Futures now up, 12.50 points off the low. Like I thought this was going down. Yeah, sure it is. My levels on the way up are the ABCD here at 14.25 for the 1.000 (not thinking there is any chance that will slow this down), 18.75-19.75, 23.75-24.75, and then around 34.50-35.75. These are the center of the areas, give or take.

BTW, the entire drop from the U.S. being put on credit watch negative is now erased, and more. I would have thought the ES should have dropped 300+ points on that. Nope, it's up. Bizarro World.

Thank you, Al. That clears it up.
Did you learn to do that from roofer or someone else?

ches,

roofer was the first person I have seen to declare the importance of measuring fibos from the center of a gap.

Hope this helps.

roofer,

I am very sad to hear about your recent misfortune. I will keep you in my prayers. I pray you have a complete recovery and return to your full strength and health. God bless you.
