Darn, I was watching the ES, it opened and dropped right to a line I was watching, to the tick, and started up. I got a buy trigger. I decided not to post on this. My motivation wanes from time to time, as I get so little interaction on all my posts. Now the ES is up almost 20 off the low, much more than I expected by now. It's really getting ramped hard. Oh, well, I wish I had posted it as it was happening. I used a really cool line technique to get my line. I had it on there shortly after Friday morning got started.

I was hoping you'd not post this, I was going to do it as soon as I got a break from the action, but so far no slow down since before the opening bell... I actually had that monthly set, and your daily set, on my charts already, so, as you said, it was easy to see this was going to be a key spot. Then you just wait and see if it gives you the .886 gap on 5 (or for me, several other setups I use). Great posts, roofer.

Wow. That is massive! With all that supporting geometry on the monthly it makes it look really simple to see that algo working in a seemingly innocuous way on the 5 minute. Awesome.

I have some incredible lines at an .886 at 72.00-73.25, so that's where I'm really going to get cautious on any intraday long side bias plays I may have. If that doesn't contain the run up it may burst through such a key area, and head to the obvious 1.272 ext ret. Of course, it has to overcome the area here it is currently struggling with. I'm not saying it will get up there, I'm just saying if it does, it's an area of serious concern.

I frequently shock people/students when I say I won't trade a 3-min ES pattern intraday unless I have full workups on the monthly, weekly, daily, and 60-min (the 15-min goes without saying), and I understand those. Most are totally incredulous when they hear this. I recall a recent conversation, and the person just couldn't accept this. I need to fully grasp the monthly to trade a 3-min pattern? Of course I do. Here's a great example of why. 'Context'.

Jim, that is probably part of the reason you are such a good trader. I really need to include those workups in my work! Al, do the work! Al, do the work!

Okay, not trying to be overly critical, just making sure I understand what you are saying.

Of course I meant KZ. I'm sorry if I confused anybody.
I'm quite bussy at work nowadays and I can hardly post charts, which resulted in an obvious mistake.
