craft- i have been posting my best work here. i guess this is my cave! i am sure you noticed that all three charts showed what is now my highest probability setup.draw a simple line connecting 3 pivots that ends in fib box. anchor medianline set on that line. price will go to medianline 90% of time....

m-as i have stated before, i believe that nothing that jim or i come up with has not always been in the market and always been known to the most skilled traders.the only difference is that we are willing to show publicly what we find...essentially jim found his fib by punching his sqrt function on a calculator... essentially i find what i find by taking an idea and then tediously punching through thousands of charts.... for a few moments there is a feeling of satisfaction.... then it is back to the monotony of our days.-g

Hi Guys,

This is great information. Let me know if I am looking at this correctly. I attached a chart from today 1/5/2009 of the IWM. I circled three swing highs (Magenta) and drew a median (Red) using the first and third pivot and the lowest pivot between the two.

Thanks for all the great info.

Best wishes,

Tommy

in showing the sl sets, i in no way am saying that traders should disregard standard sets or the trade setups i have shown in past.. enjoy thinking this through with me.i have been laying the groundwork for this by saying that the 4 pillars of geometry are the simple line, the frequency given by medianline sets and the sqrt functions of fibonacci.i have shown in the past my BLT trade which on this chart setup at the two arrows.now note the setup in the box! the sl set is the same as the standard set!thus in essence it is carrying a double frequency...when price trades to upper line at blt, if you draw in green set to which price will go 90% of time to medianline, you are trading at the extreme but only risking 20 cents.... and after the bounce on the gap down today... price trades to the key .382 at the completion of simple line... now are you going to wait for price to trade to line of bigger set.. or are you going to say... gee i have a setup that says down 90% of time?////a word of advice... if you trade a number of things you will get many of these every week... choose the best.. after a while these setups will jump off the charts at you..if it feels like you are having to force it to get the simple line, i usually back off and wait for the line to come easily....

the IWM was asked about... here are the two setups... note how the two simple lines practically drew themselves... that is what i mean by not forcing them.... then it was a simple matter of checking the that the last point was in a fib box or key fib...in essence i find this a wonderful way of sorting out medianline sets and finding the ones i really want to trade....

again i think it is very important to note.... in choosing to skip a pivot and draw sets out side the standard way, i found no edge at all when the skipped pivot did not line up....only when the three pivots lined up with the limitation i noted did i find this wonderful tool.

Sweet. Is the ML a "hard target" for you or do you just pull in your stops/take some off when it gets there and wait and see if it goes further, maybe even to the opposite parallel?

at its simplest... think of it as comfort food ..price is going there 90 % of time and it allows you to set a very tight stop based on measure to that line... before and after that all your other tools are in play....but as a trader what is more important.. theory or a trade setup that works 90% of time with a tight stop... fyi i rarely take a trade anymore that does not start with a simple line... but remember time is key for me.. the tbt trade and the dxo trade set up based on time the way i have shown it such that only today did i take some money off....

i have said on a number of occasions that it is my'' job'' to capture the swings from green to brown to green... i am happiest when cci10, 40, 120. are together... do i just pull the trigger? no i simply ask'' is the geometry there also?'' if yes time to go to work... pretty simple and clear on IWM. if i am looking for a bigger swing trade i wait and wait... i waited eight days for time and geometry to come together on the TBT trade.at the low the geometry was perfect and the time configuration was about as perfect as it gets...though i have it memorized now so that i do not even keep the card anymore, i had a card that listed specific time configurations that had shown the best results....how did i know... but looking at endless charts..

at the turn, i was scrolling my charts looking for the best entry... the TWM lept off the charts grabbed my hand and pressed the button!

Note from Jim: I finally figured out why this didn't post correctly, and fixed it.
