Okay, let's crank up another great week in here. The market action should be awesome again, I suspect.

I'll go on record saying I think starting a position in puts here was reasonable. I expect this may do one more small push up, but that's would be baked into the cake on the put plays, as far as stops. And if it does another 100 Dow points tomorrow, as per the usual average, then fine, everyone can laugh at my silliness with this read. Again, like rat says, sometimes you just set 'em up, put the stop in place, and let the machine run, for better or for worse. I think positioning for puts here was reasonable.

It will be curious to see if that 83.50 is it. Will it do another push to 97-98? Will it try to get that 1600 with a little 'throw over'? Maybe just over 1600 for posterity? What will it do on the European open coming up here? Nice questions to ponder...

using the geometry, gone at lower arrow in pre.... this is tough one, given my larger bearishness into ultimate low....ultimately i just want to relax and be away from the market...and my number one rule as a TRADER is to have no positions if i am not focused..

Wow, roofer, those have to be like 30 or 50 to 1 reward/risk. I'm thrilled when I can get 3 to 1, and sometimes it's 2 to 1 intraday. All I can say when looking at your trades is wow.

jim- they are... we use the same tools, but essentially we use them differently.... we both look for runners but i have found over thousands of trades that i do better in the specific way i trade if i exit....i/e grabbing chunks of price....

Gold down around 67. Is that something, or what? Recall the chart I posted for that, and the two areas I am watching (I sure hope people saved copies for themselves to work it up themselves, and to follow along on that one). Silver sitting right on the area I've wanted it to break forever and cause the flush to 20ish (I'd like to see a 19 handle). Here's the charts, updated from last time.

rat made a good point the other day about things that used to work like a clock for those of us who trade both sides being out of whack since late november... AS IF A NEW COMPUTER WAS DRIVING THE MARKET.... zero hedge has pretty much nailed it as to the who and when...i have read everything i could find about the dislocations in 07 in the markets... basically computers with positions in many markets get hit so bad in one market they start liquidating what they can sell which triggers other computers... i think we are on the edge of one of those events where the markets overwhelm the manipulation.... we shall see...

I was going to ask you, roofer, if you caught that gold move, and I decided to look back again at your posts, and I see you caught it via the GDX, and the oil move, too. Nice. Wait a minute, I just realized, what's the point of this post? Hmmm, I guess there is none? At least it will up my post count by one.
