Okay, I'm going to point out a stat that is long forgotten, even on the best blogs. I have it written down somewhere, but I don't want to try to find it. I'll just give the gist of it. In the 'great bear' we had some large number of 300+ days, I forgot how many. Lots of them. In the previous bull we had... drum roll... none. Zero, zip, nada. The theory was, we will know we are in a bull market when we no longer have 300+ up days. Now, after one 300+ up day right after the 3/6/9 low, we have had a grand total in this four and half year bull of... zero 300+ up days (you can do the research, maybe I'm wrong, but that's my information). Anyway, I commented that perhaps the top is in, or maybe one more token push.
Of course I'm laughed at, since Dow 30K-32K is a given now. And I got this sense yesterday that something was up. I posted such. And today we have a 300+ point up day. Pretty much everyone sees this as a very, very bullish sign. And I'm wondering, is it the first 'confirmation' that we are truly in a bear? Based on the 3/6/9 low I think we could see a nominal new high and this would still be a valid indication, since right around the turn these things can start a little early or a little late from the actual final high or low, but I do think this is a huge piece of information that few know about. We'll see. It so so important that I wanted to bring it up, get it on the record.

Actually, I'm not so sure there haven't been 300+ up days since that 3/6/9 low (except the one right after). If someone has a current subscription to like TC2000, you can scroll the Dow bar by bar and look at the amount it was up or down, and see how many times this has happened. I'd be curious if anyone could do this and post the results.

Interesting article, but I'm mostly posting it as a reference for this one quote.
"Iceland went through a similar deflationary event to that risked in the US today when its banking system collapsed and the currency halved overnight."
Now, wait, during a deflation their currency got cut in half? No, hold up, wait, all I've ever heard is that during a deflation cash is king, it's super rare, and its buying power increases. Yeah, uh-huh, that's what really happens in the real world. My money gets me more stuff. Uh-huh. Deflation and less buying power. Makes sense.
