Well, they got the low by how much? Two ticks. Hmmm, seen that anywhere recently? Now up? Or another push down?

It seems that 99.99% of the analysts say the chance of a default is 0.00%. I strongly suspect any day now they'll come up with some short-term BS 'solution', and the Dow will jump 200-300 in a day, and who knows after that. But, I have been pondering the idea that what is most unexpected does sometimes tend to happen. Hence, I wonder... Anyway, here's an interesting paragraph from an interesting book written like sixteen years ago. Wouldn't it be something if 'the end' was kicked off by something stupid like this?

Interesting article, but I'm mostly posting it as a reference for this one quote.
"Iceland went through a similar deflationary event to that risked in the US today when its banking system collapsed and the currency halved overnight."
Now, wait, during a deflation their currency got cut in half? No, hold up, wait, all I've ever heard is that during a deflation cash is king, it's super rare, and its buying power increases. Yeah, uh-huh, that's what really happens in the real world. My money gets me more stuff. Uh-huh. Deflation and less buying power. Makes sense.
