Some areas for ES. If a fifteen point drop anticipated by ZH is going to happen, it will fall into a nice grouping.

Anyway, didn't I say they'd get the deal done? Didn't I say the deal would only kick the can down the road temporarily and do nothing to address the problems? And didn't I say the market would be way up? Same old, same old, until we wake up and it's like the earth was hit by a giant meteor that makes the one that wiped out the dinosaurs seem like a pebble. Of this have essentially zero doubt. Hey, at least we get to party until we die. If, I guess, you call the death by a thousand cuts the middle class is living now until the end 'partying'.

So, is that 4PT all it needs? Time to head on up to those new all-time highs? Or will they bring it in for better prices? I think once they finalize the deal, it will rally hard. So, I say straight up. We shall see.

So, over 650 Dow points isn't enough for this. Time for the 'big' move. On news that is already known. Crazy. Crazy, but true. The truth is stranger than fiction.

I just heard one Senator say she is happy they have reached a deal so we can pay our bills. Wait a sec, pay our bills with borrowed money is paying our bills? Now, maybe I'm a little slow and math challenged, but that doesn't sound right... Nah, must be me. These are professionals, they know what they are doing.

I'm just sick to my stomach. I got my 'new plan' info recently. Increased pricing, way more deductible and coinsurance, and now all doctor visits are towards the full deductible and coinsurance first, except the primary care doctor, and that's just coinsurance. A few years back I went to a dermatologist for the tiniest little thing. Years back I went to my primary care for similar, paid a $5 copay for the office visit, and that was it. This time, for this tiny little thing, he billed I think it was over $1,400. Now, even with a 'low' $1,000 deductible almost all of that is out of pocket. Most specialists bill $400 or more for an 8-10 minute visit. Even after the deductible has been met, this is still over $80 at the 'gold plan' 20% coinsurance, out of pocket, for an office visit. Tell me what struggling middle class people can afford this?
I use to have vision coverage, nope, that's gone. I used to have prescription coverage, yeah, I still have it now, after my deductible! Even generics! But, thankfully, I have maternity coverage, and some other nice things that I can't use. The list goes on and on. All for more money! O'Bummer said my rates would be going down. And how about keeping my doctor, as O'Bummer promised I could (heck, he promised if I like my old plan, I could keep it. Nope, old plan gone.)? Well, last I heard, he's bailing on it. I think he's going to set up a cash payment practice. But, that's not O'Bummer's fault, right? Look at that list of what it does to Medicare recipients. I live in a rural, poor, older community of people who have worked their whole lives and paid into the system. These are not hand outs, this is what they paid their whole lives for. Look at what this will do to them. This is just disgusting.

So, they keep saying there is no inflation, and we need more inflation. Let's see. I got my prescription the other day. It was up. 265% My better half just called me from the grocery, my almonds are up from last time. 20%. I looked at my tax software for this year. It was up. 33.33%. Recall that link I posted for health plans and all those triple digit increases. Nope, all that doesn't sound like any inflation to me. I agree, we need lots more.
BTW, let's quickly talk about the CPI. Now, for me, my medical insurance is almost 40% of my total expenditures. So, for me, I'd like the CPI weighted so medical insurance is figured at about that level, say 40%. Look at what others pay. And to do it right, you can't look at all those who pay little getting it from work, and figure that percentage. If your employer is paying for it, it's the same as if you are. In theory, the employer could just pay you more and not include the insurance. It's the same with FICA. I'm self-employed, so I pay 15.3%. Workers pay 7.15%, but their employer pays the other 7.15%. If they didn't, they could pay you 7.15% more. So, you pay it all, regardless. I think 99.99%, literally, of people are simply unable to comprehend that fact no matter how many times it is explained to them. It's just a limitation of the human mind (and poor education), and it a big part of why we are in the mess we are in.
Anyway, I think the CPI should weight medical insurance between 20% and 40%, but more towards the latter. And since this is one of the fastest increasing expenses, it is very important that it be weighed accurately, to insure accuracy in the CPI. The current weighting? 0.6%. Yes, 0.6%. Well, that's a nice way to keep those old inflation figures down. The Chinese recently did the same thing with housing data. They tweaked the weighting of houses, and the weighting of rural/city data, and so on. Presto, no inflation in China. EZ-PZ. Yep, there's no inflation.
