Some areas for ES. If a fifteen point drop anticipated by ZH is going to happen, it will fall into a nice grouping.

A point and a half and it's at the HOD. You can do it.

So, cash closes with ES one tick below the HOD. Hmmm, they are slacking. Let's leave it to after cash to gun those stops and get another big pop.

Anyway, for those that can't tell (I don't know how that can be, but with language barriers and human nature being so optimistic and so on, it's an issue) pretty much every comment I made today (except the buy the open plan from yesterday) was heavily sarcastic. That doesn't mean I don't think it may see Dow 32,000 (I'm starting to think this may be the highest odds scenario), or that this will keep flying here, or that they will, indeed, buy the rumor and buy the news. It's just reaching a point where I can't stand watching the country and the hard working people be looted, raped, pillaged, and so on, any longer. I have lost the ability to simply look to trade the charts. Another part of me analyzes the implications of every last move, and it's destroying me.

It truly is time for me to retire, to walk away from this. Look at comments by Denniger, Quinn, and so on. I'm not alone in this feeling. I hate to walk away and lose all the work I have done. To have them loot and steal that from me, too, along with everything else. But, as I have known all along, this will go on until all of us have nothing. No money, no homes, no careers, nothing. And for those that think I've went around the bend, let me quote someone whom most of us respect, to show perhaps I'm not so crazy after all. It's from Thomas Jefferson, on May 28, 1816 :

"And I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property -- until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered... The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not."

I'm glad Guy posted this next to the pages. But, if you missed it, this explains the paging. Once I figured it out (which, funnily, I figured out the last part just before I saw his link), it isn't so bad.

Well, that didn't take too long. I have a new philosophy. You know how I use to say 'Long until close' or 'Ride until close'? Now it's 'Long until death' or 'Ride until death'. I won't be closing anything out until my life ends. Wait, no, not even then. My positions will actually transfer to my beneficiaries. So, I'll tell them to just hold until they pass them on. That works. Okay, I'm glad I got that settled.

Too bad this nice 3D won't do anything at all. Ah, the old days when the market wasn't utterly one-sided and resistance was a useful term.

I wish they would just make an announcement about a very short-term temporary debt ceiling increase so the ES can ramp a hundred points.

So, they keep saying there is no inflation, and we need more inflation. Let's see. I got my prescription the other day. It was up. 265% My better half just called me from the grocery, my almonds are up from last time. 20%. I looked at my tax software for this year. It was up. 33.33%. Recall that link I posted for health plans and all those triple digit increases. Nope, all that doesn't sound like any inflation to me. I agree, we need lots more.

BTW, let's quickly talk about the CPI. Now, for me, my medical insurance is almost 40% of my total expenditures. So, for me, I'd like the CPI weighted so medical insurance is figured at about that level, say 40%. Look at what others pay. And to do it right, you can't look at all those who pay little getting it from work, and figure that percentage. If your employer is paying for it, it's the same as if you are. In theory, the employer could just pay you more and not include the insurance. It's the same with FICA. I'm self-employed, so I pay 15.3%. Workers pay 7.15%, but their employer pays the other 7.15%. If they didn't, they could pay you 7.15% more. So, you pay it all, regardless. I think 99.99%, literally, of people are simply unable to comprehend that fact no matter how many times it is explained to them. It's just a limitation of the human mind (and poor education), and it a big part of why we are in the mess we are in.

Anyway, I think the CPI should weight medical insurance between 20% and 40%, but more towards the latter. And since this is one of the fastest increasing expenses, it is very important that it be weighed accurately, to insure accuracy in the CPI. The current weighting? 0.6%. Yes, 0.6%. Well, that's a nice way to keep those old inflation figures down. The Chinese recently did the same thing with housing data. They tweaked the weighting of houses, and the weighting of rural/city data, and so on. Presto, no inflation in China. EZ-PZ. Yep, there's no inflation.
