Some areas for ES. If a fifteen point drop anticipated by ZH is going to happen, it will fall into a nice grouping.

This is a must (must) view. It's nothing I didn't know already, but it explains it well for those that don't. I'd also watch all the other parts, too.

The problem with all this is that every last video like the above, as good as it is at explaining things, is not done for altruistic reasons. It's all about getting you to buy their services. So many are trying to profit off what is happening, and since I think there really is no way to protect yourself, all these places are just selling another version of how you can be smart and protect yourself, be one of the 'survivors'. So, never buy any of these services when I post something like this, I only do it for informative purposes.
But, since we are essentially powerless to do anything about it, I guess it serves no real purpose. Being informed and being powerless only leads to emotional turmoil, and turns one into a basket case like me. I do it because I can't stand around and watch this evil. But, what's the point, it truly is hopeless, at least in my lifetime. Even if they were 'overthrown' what would ensue would be horrific, and last all the time I could have left, even in the best case scenario. Okay, now I'm really depressed... Sorry.

What's interesting here is what he says about the market and taxes. It's the same thing I said about gold. If the market exactly kept up with 'real' inflation, then your purchasing power would be the same. It's like I say when the market goes parabolic the Dow may be at a million, but you'll buy less than before it went up with your exact same shares. Let's say it bought the same (kept up exactly with inflation). When you sell, the gub-er-mint takes a huge cut for 'taxes' on 'capital gains'. (All capital gains should be adjusted first for true, real world inflation. Well, in my world there would be no inflation (it's very easy to accomplish, despite the brainwashing so we are easy marks to screw), and no capital gains taxes.) So, how can they tax you for 'gains' when you can't buy any more when you sell than when you bought? It's the same old rigged game solely designed to screw you out of more. Every thing that happens has one sole purpose, one design, and that is to screw you out of what is rightfully yours, what you worked hard for. I hate being a mathematician.

The question is, would I consider shorting this when it hits deeper into the area. Hmmmm, right now I'm thinking not. Maybe if I saw something that gave me the feeling it may be coming in, but no, I'm mostly thinking lean on the long side relentlessly.

So, they keep saying there is no inflation, and we need more inflation. Let's see. I got my prescription the other day. It was up. 265% My better half just called me from the grocery, my almonds are up from last time. 20%. I looked at my tax software for this year. It was up. 33.33%. Recall that link I posted for health plans and all those triple digit increases. Nope, all that doesn't sound like any inflation to me. I agree, we need lots more.
BTW, let's quickly talk about the CPI. Now, for me, my medical insurance is almost 40% of my total expenditures. So, for me, I'd like the CPI weighted so medical insurance is figured at about that level, say 40%. Look at what others pay. And to do it right, you can't look at all those who pay little getting it from work, and figure that percentage. If your employer is paying for it, it's the same as if you are. In theory, the employer could just pay you more and not include the insurance. It's the same with FICA. I'm self-employed, so I pay 15.3%. Workers pay 7.15%, but their employer pays the other 7.15%. If they didn't, they could pay you 7.15% more. So, you pay it all, regardless. I think 99.99%, literally, of people are simply unable to comprehend that fact no matter how many times it is explained to them. It's just a limitation of the human mind (and poor education), and it a big part of why we are in the mess we are in.
Anyway, I think the CPI should weight medical insurance between 20% and 40%, but more towards the latter. And since this is one of the fastest increasing expenses, it is very important that it be weighed accurately, to insure accuracy in the CPI. The current weighting? 0.6%. Yes, 0.6%. Well, that's a nice way to keep those old inflation figures down. The Chinese recently did the same thing with housing data. They tweaked the weighting of houses, and the weighting of rural/city data, and so on. Presto, no inflation in China. EZ-PZ. Yep, there's no inflation.
